The PADRES (-175) are moderate favorites, and they’re a tad risky given the fact the offense has managed just 1.8 runs per game across the past 5 contests. This team has really missed the big bat of SS Fernando Tatis Jr., suspended earlier this month by MLB after testing positive for a banned substance.
Still, San Diego should do enough to scratch out a win and salvage a split.
Run line/Against the spread
The price for the GUARDIANS +1.5 (-150) is not out of line. Cleveland will get a good effort from Quantrill, and this team has been red-hot against left-handed starting pitchers. Don’t expect the Guardians to be fazed by the southpaw Snell. Still, I expect the Padres to do enough to grab the 1-run win.
