As shaky as Clemson has been offensively this season (113th FBS in yards per game and points per game), the Tigers have been solid stopping opponents. Clemson has held foes to 15.3 points per game, which ranks third nationally.

The Cardinals were on the downside of a 28-13 game at NC State last Saturday. Louisville returns home after losing three of its last four games overall. The Cards are 5-1 in their last six home games dating back to last season.

Clemson at Louisville odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Louisville 24, Clemson 21

Money line

Clemson is perhaps getting a bit too much of a recency bias boost here. It comes after a win over a brand name Florida State, but FSU is a shaky-at-best brand in its current state. The Tigers’ offense is just simply in permanent-fade purgatory.

In points allowed vs. yardage allowed, the Clemson defense is out too far over its skis. The opposite holds true for Louisville.

BACK THE CARDINALS (+155).

Against the spread

The Tigers are 0-5 ATS in their last five games following a straight-up win.

The Cardinals are 6-0 ATS in their last six games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game and 6-3 ATS across their last nine conference home games.

With Clemson playing its third road game in four weeks, BACK LOUISVILLE +3.5 (-112).

Over/Under

Too many reasons to not line both sides of this figure: PASS.
