Class of 2025 WR planning visit after picking up offer from Gators

Florida extended an offer to wide receiver Thomas Blackshear on Thursday, and he’s already planning his first trip to campus.

Calvary Day School (Savannah, Georgia) wide receiver [autotag]Thomas Blackshear[/autotag] has already picked up a few SEC offers heading into his junior year of high school and now the Florida Gators are getting interested.

Florida offered Blackshear on Thursday and he is already considering some dates for a visit, according to Gators Online. He’s still getting to know the program, but a gameday visit to the Swamp might help catch him up to speed.

“Yeah, I’m not sure which game I will be attending, but I will most definitely be to one of them,” Blackshear said.

Blackshear hasn’t fleshed out a list of top schools just yet, but he said that Florida’s offer was a “huge” one for him.

The hometown Bulldogs are on top of Blackshear’s recruitment, according to On3’s recruiting prediction machine. Behind UGA‘s 56.4% leading odds to land Blackshear are South Carolina (4.5%), Florida (3.8%) and Auburn (3.2%).

Blackshear is a three-star recruit by On3’s measure. He’s ranked No. 41 among wide receivers in his class and is the 36th-best recruit out of Georgia. 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals.com have yet to grade him, which means there isn’t enough data for any composite rankings.
