Class of 2024 prospect calls UNC offer an honor

This five-star recruit in the 2024 class felt honored to receive an offer from the UNC basketball program.

Class of 2024 five-star prospect [autotag]Jarin Stevenson[/autotag] has been a target for the UNC basketball program for over a year now. The North Carolina native has ties to the university and he’s quickly become a priority for Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels.

The 6-foot-8, 190-pound power forward is ranked as a top 15 overall recruit in the 2024 class. He has a total of five offers in his recruitment including one from North Carolina. N.C. State, Georgetown, Missouri, and Wake Forest have also offered and other teams are starting to get more and more involved including the Virginia Cavaliers.

But the UNC offer for Stevenson was special.

Stevenson talked to Travis Branham of 247Sports to discuss his recruitment including what the offer from UNC meant to him. Here is what he said:

North Carolina: “It [the offer] was a lot. It’s very prestigious. Michael Jordan, Vince Carter, just a lot of NBA greats went there so it’s definitely an honor.”

Things are picking up rapidly for this talented recruit and he hasn’t set any official visits just yet.

As things progress, Stevenson will start to set those official visits and it would be shocking not to see the Tar Heels get one. While there’s no favorite in this recruitment just yet, we have to feel good about UNC’s chances early on.
