DETROIT — Detroit Tigers left fielder Christin Stewart has endured a miserable season at the plate in 2020, but that all may be about to change.
Stewart, a former University of Tennessee baseball player, clubbed a two-run home run Monday night against the Chicago Cubs.
The Tigers, however, came up on the short end of a 9-3 decision against Chicago at Comerica Park.
The home run broke a dry spell for Stewart, who was hitless in his previous five games and 17 at-bats.
He is now batting .158. The former Vol has two home runs and has driven in five runs. He has just nine hits, including two homers, two doubles and has scored four runs this season.
