Christin Stewart has three-game hitting streak snapped as Detroit gets swept in double header against Twins

MINNEAPOLIS — Detroit Tigers left fielder Christin Stewart had his modest three-game hitting streak snapped in his team’s 3-2 loss to the Minnesota Twins Friday night at Target Field.

Stewart, a former University of Tennessee baseball player, went 0-for-2 in the second game of a double-header.

The Tigers (17-19) also lost the first game 2-0 to the Twins on Friday afternoon.

Stewart went 1-for-2 in that contest. He is now batting a paltry .192 this season.

He has three home runs and three doubles in 2020, while scoring five runs and driving in nine this year.

The former Tennessee standout is currently in his third season in Detroit and has a career batting average of .231.
