DETROIT — Detroit Tigers’ left fielder Christin Stewart has had his share of offensive struggles lately. Things were going so bad in his most recent slump that manager Ron Gardenhire kept the former University of Tennessee outfielder out of the lineup for the last two games.
Stewart had also missed three of his team’s last four games, but he returned Wednesday night in a the Tigers’ 7-5 loss to the Chicago White Sox at Comerica Park.
And while Stewart saw his troubles at the plate continue against Chicago, he did draw a walk while going 0-for-3 on the night.
This season, Stewart is batting a paltry .189 with a home run and three RBI.
