CLEVELAND — Detroit Tigers left fielder Christin Stewart saw his struggles at the plate continue on Saturday in Detroit’s 6-1 loss to the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field.
Stewart, who went 0-for-3, has not had a hit in his last five games. He is now been held hitless in his last 13 at-bats and is no longer an everyday player for Detroit (10-15).
He last picked up a hit in the Tigers’ game against the Indians in Detroit on Aug. 15.
The former University of Tennessee baseball player is now batting a paltry .151 and has just eight hits, including two doubles and a home run in 2020.
He has driven in three runs and scored three. In three seasons with the Tigers, Stewart has a lifetime batting average of .228.
