Christian Kirk injury: Jaguars WR suffers groin injury in Week 13

Christian Kirk was injured after making a 26-yard grab on the Jaguars’ first offensive play Monday.

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Christian Kirk suffered a groin injury in Week 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals. The team initially ruled Kirk as questionable to return before ruling him out just after halftime.

Kirk hauled in a 26-yard reception on the Jaguars’ first offensive play of the game, but went down without contact. He was eventually able to leave the field under his own power and slowly limped to the locker room.

Losing Kirk was an extended period would be a significant blow for the Jacksonville offense. Through the first 12 weeks of the season, the veteran receiver had 56 receptions for a team-leading 761 yards. With his early reception Monday, Kirk has recorded a reception for at least 20 yards in 11 straight games.

The Jaguars were without No. 3 wide receiver Zay Jones for a lengthy stretch, but recently got him back in the lineup. The team recently placed Jamal Agnew on injured reserve and also has Calvin Ridley, Tim Jones, Parker Washington, and Elijah Cooks at the position.
