Chris DeMarco, Bahamas National Team earn chance to qualify for 2024 Paris Olympics

While Steve Kerr is busy preparing Team USA for the FIBA World Cup, another member of his Golden State Warriors staff is coaching an international team this summer.

Warriors assistant Chris DeMarco is leading the Bahamian National Team with NBA players Deandre Ayton, Eric Gordon and Buddy Hield. Behind the trio of NBA talent, the Bahamas secured an important victory in its bid to make the Paris Olympics in 2024.

The Bahamian national team defeated Argentina twice and Cuba and Uruguay in a 2024 FIBA men’s pre-qualifying Olympic qualifying tournament. With wins in Argentina, the Bahamas earned a spot in a qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games in Paris.

DeMarco has been with the Warriors for nine seasons, serving as assistant coach and director of player development for the last three seasons. DeMarco has been the Bahamas National Team head coach since 2019.
