The 38-0 loss to the Denver Broncos in the regular season was meaningless in the grand scheme of the Kansas City Chiefs. The focus is squarely on the postseason, leaving Week 18 to be treated as an evaluation of the entire roster with backups playing significant snaps.

Chiefs wide receiver Nikko Remigio has impressed coaches since training camp and played a role on the practice squad and special teams. The Fresno State standout took full advantage of his opportunity on offense in the blowout loss to Denver.

He led the team in receiving while continuing his role as a returner on special teams. He finished the game with two catches for 48 yards and had a 36-yard kick return.

“I’ve got to approach each week like I’m preparing for a game,” said Remigio during his Friday press conference before the Week 18 regular-season finale. “It’s kind of like preparing for the test before you get to the test. Now that the test is here, I can truly say that I feel prepared.”

Remigio’s chemistry with Carson Wentz from practice was an essential connection for the game and one of the few shining moments in the loss.
