The Kansas City Chiefs officially know where they’ll pick in the 2021 NFL draft. The NFL has finally released the official and complete draft order, which was likely held up due to the Minnesota Vikings having to forfeit a draft pick.
Here’s an updated look at the eight picks that the team currently holds:
- Round 1, Pick 31
- Round 2, Pick 63
- Round 3, Pick 94
- Round 4, Pick 136
- Round 4, Pick 144 (Kendall Fuller comp pick)
- Round 5, Pick 175
- Round 5, Pick 181 (Emmanuel Ogbah comp pick)
- Round 6, Pick 207 (Acquired in trade for RB DeAndre Washington).
The Chiefs don’t have their own sixth- or seventh-round draft picks this season due to prior trades. Their sixth-round draft pick went to Tennessee in the trade to acquire BoPete Keyes in the 2020 NFL draft. Their seventh-round pick was part of the DeAndre Washington trade with the Dolphins.
Brett Veach has only ever selected six players in a single draft class, so having eight draft picks could yield some interesting results this year. It’s an important draft for Kansas City, with many needs on the roster. Hitting on some contributors in the five selections that the Chiefs have in the Top-150 will be very important.
