Chiefs to wear home red uniforms for Super Bowl LV

The Chiefs will wear their red-on-white uniform combination for Super Bowl LV.

The uniforms that the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to wear in Super Bowl LV have been revealed.

The Buccaneers are playing at home and are even the designated home team this year, but they announced that they’ll be wearing white tops and pewter pants. That’s typically their away uniform combination, though, they have worn it at home from time to time.

This means that the Chiefs will get to wear their typical home uniform with a red jersey and white pants— the same color combination that they wore when they won Super Bowl LIV and Super Bowl IV.

It might seem strange that Tampa would wear their away jersey when playing in their home stadium, but there is actually a method to the madness. They’ve won each of the last three postseason games while wearing their away uniform. Additionally, Tom Brady has a 4-1 record when he’s wearing white in Super Bowls. So I guess you could say that the Bucs’ choice is a little superstitious.

No matter, I think the Chiefs will be plenty happy to wear the same color of uniforms that they wore last year.

They sure do look pretty, don’t they?
