The world has continued to buzz surrounding the appearances of pop star Taylor Swift attending the last two Kansas City Chiefs games. She was initially invited as a special guest of tight end Travis Kelce, leading to plenty of eyes on the duo.
The constant rumors and millions wanting to know everything happening with the pair had been overwhelming. Kelce addressed whether he’s adjusted to life under a different scope while staying focused on the game during his Friday press conference.
“No, we’re learning with the paparazzi just taking photos from all over the place,” Kelce explained. “But at the same time, it’s, you know what comes with it, it comes with it, you got a lot of people that care about Taylor (Swift) and for good reason. So it’s, um, you know, just gotta keep living and learning and enjoying the moments. And at the end of the day, you know, I’ve always been pretty good about compartmentalizing and being able to stay focused in this building. So I just keep rolling with that, man.”
Swift was noticeably in attendance during the Chiefs Week 4 victory over the New York Jets as the game was broadcast nationally on NBC. The game featured more than the usual amount of camera cuts to the suites to get a view of Swift’s reaction to any significant play made that night.
“Having fun with it, whether I think they’re overdoing it or not, you know, I don’t know, I brought this to myself, or I’ve been fortunate enough to have fun with it, you know, and that’s, that’s where all that really matters is that it’s not pissing anybody off over here at least. So I’m having fun with it. I think that, like I said earlier, I’ve been pretty good at just compartmentalizing and making sure my focus is always about, you know, winning the game. And I don’t see that changing anytime soon.”
Kelce’s mainstream notability has risen to higher levels since Swift’s appearance at the Chiefs Week 3 game against the Chicago Bears. He has seen his jersey sales garner plenty of momentum along the way.
