The Kansas City Chiefs signed wide receiver Nikko Remigio ahead of their Week 14 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football.
Remigio has become a fan favorite at Chiefs training camp over the last two years but has never had a real chance to make his presence felt on the field in a regular-season game during his time in Kansas City.
Despite his addition to the team’s active roster, Remigio is unlikely to play a significant role in Andy Reid’s offense against Los Angeles.
The Chiefs’ official Twitter account announced the news of Remigio’s signing on Saturday:
We have signed Practice Squad WR Nikko Remigio to an active roster contract.
We have activated Practice Squad LB Swayze Bozeman and TE Baylor Cupp via Standard Elevation.
We have placed WR Mecole Hardman on Reserve/Injured. pic.twitter.com/0yi3Szx43t

Remigio was part of Kansas City’s Super Bowl LVIII roster last season as a rookie. He played collegiately at Fresno State and showed flashes of brilliance in the preseason before he was cut after training camp.
If Remigio isn’t among the Chiefs’ inactive players on Sunday, fans can expect Patrick Mahomes to look his way in the passing game.
