Chiefs rookie George Karlaftis already looks like a steal

The Kansas City Chiefs got themselves a bargain in rookie pass rusher George Karlaftis

Thanks to a loaded class at the position, the Kansas City Chiefs had plenty of talented edge defenders to pick from in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft.

They opted for Purdue’s George Karlaftis with the No. 30 overall selection, and just one game into his NFL career, he’s already looking like a bargain.

While Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City offense stole the headlines with their dominant performance, the Chiefs defense turned in a strong outing, as well. Karlaftis was among the most impressive in the group, registering a whopping six pressures against Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray (according to Pro Football Focus).

No other rookie had more than three pressures on opening weekend, per PFF.

Not bad for a guy who almost fell out of the first round entirely.
