The most significant concern for the Kansas City Chiefs following their Week 5 victory over the Minnesota Vikings was the health of tight end Travis Kelce. The All-Pro briefly left last Sunday’s game with an ankle injury but returned to play well and lead the team in receiving for the win.

The nagging effects an ankle injury can have after swelling is always a concern, so many critics didn’t expect Kelce on the field during a short-week matchup with the Denver Broncos this Thursday. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid revealed that Kelce would practice on Tuesday as he addressed reporters during his press conference.

“Yeah, he’s done well. He’s got quite a little bit of treatment on it. So feel a little bit better, which is good.” said Reid. “I’m gonna just see how he moves around, how he feels. He’s always been honest with me about things like that. So we’ll just see how he does, but he’s doing okay out there today. So we’ll see where it goes.”

Kelce finished last Sunday’s victory over the Vikings with ten catches for 67 yards and a touchdown to lead the team. He’s a consistent matchup problem for opposing defenses and Patrick Mahomes primary target, so it would be vital to have him available in this upcoming AFC West battle.
