The Kansas City Chiefs have lost another important member of their front office staff to the Chicago Bears.
The Bears updated the front office roster on their official website to reflect that they had hired Trey Koziol as their new Co-Director of Player Personnel. Chicago, of course, hired Ryan Poles from the Chiefs to be their General Manager earlier this offseason.
Koziol kicked off his career in Kansas City as an area scout, doing the legwork on some previous late-round picks like Darwin Thompson, Rashad Fenton and Nick Allegretti. He worked his way up to become the Assistant Director of College Scouting last season.
Koziol has a long-standing relationship with Poles as the two played college football together at Boston College.
Trey Koziol is the Bears’ new co-director of player personnel, per the team’s website. Koziol played for Hinsdale Central and then was Ryan Poles’ teammate at Boston College. He had been with the Chiefs since 2013, most recently as KC’s assistant director of college scouting.

He was also spotted with Poles at the Senior Bowl in February, suggesting that this move might have been coming.

Expect the Chiefs to promote from within to fill Koziol’s vacancy.
