Kansas City Chiefs DT Chris Jones is back on NFL Network’s Top 100 Players of 2020 list, coming in at No. 52. This is Jones’ second consecutive season making the top 100 list. Last year, Jones was No. 36 on the list as he came off of a dominant 2018 season where he had a team-leading 15.5 sacks and had a sack in 11-straight games.

Just because Jones dropped 16 spots on the list this year doesn’t mean he’s any less dominant. In fact, the Chiefs just rewarded Jones with a long-term contract extension after he helped Kansas City to their first Super Bowl championship in 50 years.

Jones marks the second member of the Chiefs to make the top 100 list this season. Fellow defensive lineman Frank Clark came in at No. 95 on the list. There are four more Chiefs players scheduled to be on the list this season.

Jones is an energy giver on the defensive side of the ball. He’s always getting his teammates and the crowd pumped up to cause some havoc against opposing quarterbacks. His combination of quickness, strength and length put him in a class of his own at the defensive tackle position.

“He’s a bully,” DT Mike Daniels said.

Jones finished the 2019 season with 36 combined tackles, eight tackles for loss, nine sacks, 20 QB hits, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and four passes batted appearing in 13 games. He added three tackles, one QB hit, and three passes batted during the postseason on the way to becoming a Super Bowl champion.
