Chiefs are heavy favorites over the Titans

Kansas City has won its last seven straight, with its most recent being a 31-51 Divisional Round victory over the Houston Texans.

The Tennessee Titans completely turned their season around earlier in the year after Ryan Tannehill took over at quarterback in Week 7, now to the point that just one game stands between them and the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Titans defeated the Chiefs 35-32 in Nissan Stadium earlier in the season with quarterback Patrick Mahomes back at full capacity, but aren’t favored to repeat that type of success.

According to Bet MGM, the Chiefs are favored to defeat the Titans by a point spread of (-7.5).

Mahomes was 31-of-52 passing for 388 yards and two touchdowns.

It’s easy to see on the stats sheet that the Chiefs relied much more on the passing game than the ground game, as Mahomes was the team’s leading rusher with 53 yards, and tight end Travis Kelce was the Kansas City’s leading receiver with 134 yards and three touchdowns.

The Chiefs haven’t dropped one since back when they lost to the Titans.

The Titans have recorded three consecutive wins, with the latest being a stunning 28-12 victory over the top-seeded Baltimore Ravens.

Tennessee depended much more on the ground game than the passing game with rusher Derrick Henry carrying for 195 yards and Kalif Raymond finishing the game with 45 yards finish out the game as the team’s leading receiver.

It will be interesting to see how things shake out as the Titans and Chiefs kick off at 2:05 p.m. CST on Sunday in Arrowhead Stadium.
