Chicago White Sox at Cleveland Guardians odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Chicago White Sox at Cleveland Guardians odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Chicago White Sox (20-30) and Cleveland Guardians (21-27) play the finale of a 3-game set at Progressive Field Wednesday. First pitch is at 1:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the White Sox vs. Guardians odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: White Sox lead 3-2

The White Sox took Game 2 of the series Tuesday 4-2. C Yasmany Grandal homered, and RHP Dylan Cease allowed 2 ER over 6 innings. The White Sox are now 7-3 over the last 10 games. Chicago is 10-8 against the AL Central and sits 5.5 games back in the division despite being 10 games under .500.

The Guardians have lost 6 of their last 8 games, and they managed 4 runs in a game just twice in that stretch. They are also just 2-5 in the last 7 home games against the White Sox. Cleveland is 12-18 over the last 30 games, but because it plays in arguably the weakest division in baseball, it sits 3.5 games out of 1st place.

White Sox at Guardians picks and predictions

Prediction

White Sox 4, Guardians 2

Moneyline

We have gone 5-1 on picks in this series, and there looks to be value in this afternoon affair. I like the White Sox here because of Cleveland’s inability to score runs and because Kopech is coming off the best start of his career.

Kopech has always been a guy that threw hard, but you could count on him to walk 2 hitters a start, but he has not done so in 2 of his last 3 starts. We’ll need him to get 2 outs into the 6th inning, and he has gone 6 innings in 3 of 4 starts and did so in his last one against Cleveland.

Take MICHAEL KOPECH OVER 16.5 OUTS RECORDED (-110).

Run line/Against the spread

Each game has been decided by more than 1 run between these clubs this year, and they haven’t had a 1-run game in the last 12 meetings. So we’ll use this as a de facto moneyline bet and LEAN WHITE SOX -1.5 (+190) for a chance to nearly double up.

Over/Under

The wind is blowing in at 11 mph on a 72-degree day for this Wednesday matinee. The Under is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings between these teams in Cleveland. The Under is 7-0-1 in the last 8 for Cleveland against a team under .500. The Under has cashed in Chicago’s last 6 games overall and its last 4 outings following a win.

Only go a HALF-UNIT here because things could get messy on getaway day, but take the UNDER 8 (-115).
