Why The New Orleans Saints Will Win The NFC Wild Card
Yeah, Chicago was fantastic over the last month of the season as the offense took off and the team ripped through three straight games before dealing with Green Bay.
Yeah, it was fantastic. You would be, too, against Houston, Minnesota and Jacksonville.
The Bears have just one win this season against a playoff team – beating Tampa Bay 20-19 back in Week 5 on a Thursday night – and are 0-7 against the other playoff teams on the slate.
The offense isn’t that amazing.
It’s running well, but the attack is struggling way too much at moving the chains and getting anything going on third downs. When the Saints are working, they’re great on third downs on both sides of the ball, the secondary is forcing takeaways – they lead the NFL in picks – and they’re generating a good offensive balance no matter who their skill guys are.
And now they should have almost all the parts together and ready to roll.
The Saints will get their running backs back after missing in the Carolina game. They should have Michael Thomas back and rolling in the receiving corps, and they should have the ability to score fast, get up quickly, and make the Bears press.
