The Oklahoma City Thunder might have a vested interest in the 2023 FIBA World Cup because several of their players are likely to participate in the event.

This became even more evident when it was revealed Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams will join Team USA’s training camp roster, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Training camp is set to begin on Aug. 3 in Las Vegas. Holmgren and Williams will be part of the U.S. Select Team, which means they are allowed to travel with the team and serve as replacements in case anybody on the main roster drops out due to injury or other reasons.

Holmgren and Williams join Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Lu Dort as prominent Thunder players who will participate in the 2023 FIBA World Cup. The latter pair were listed on Team Canada’s training camp roster.

The 2023 FIBA World Cup is scheduled to take place from Aug. 25 to Sept. 10.
