Chaz Lanier named SEC Player of the Week

Chaz Lanier named SEC Player of the Week after conference debut.

Tennessee guard Chaz Lanier was named SEC Co-Player of the Week.

Lanier shared the award with Kentucky’s Koby Brea. He scored a season-high in Tennessee’s, 76-52, victory over Arkansas Saturday at Food City Center.

Lanier, a North Florida transfer, converted 10-of-20 field goal attempts, 5-of-9 three-point attempts and 4-of-4 free throw attempts in his first career SEC game. He leads the conference in scoring, averaging 20.3 points per game, and three-point field goals per game (4.0).

Lanier has earned SEC Player of the Week honors two times during the 2024-25 season. He also claimed the honor on Nov. 25. Tennessee guard Zakai Zeigler was also named SEC Player of the Week on Dec. 30.
