[autotag]Chase Elliott[/autotag] may not have made the 2023 NASCAR playoff as a driver but his No. 9 car is still running strong in the Owners’ Championship. In fact, Elliott has brought the No. 9 team to a higher level in recent weeks as he holds the fourth-most earned points in the playoffs behind Denny Hamlin, William Byron, and Kyle Larson.
So, where does Elliott stand in the owner’s standings? Heading into the final race of the Round of 12 at the Charlotte ROVAL, the No. 9 car sits in fourth place with a 20-point advantage over the No. 6 car driven by Brad Keselowski. With a 20-point cushion to the cut-line, Elliott should be in a very good spot with one of his best tracks coming up next.

At the Charlotte ROVAL, the Hendrick Motorsports driver has two wins and three top-10 finishes in five starts. Elliott’s worst finish at the venue is 20th place, which came in 2022 despite leading 30 laps. Overall, there should be a serious amount of optimism for Elliott as the No. 9 team seems destined for a Round of 8 appearance, which should please Hendrick Motorsports.
Many people may not care about the Owners’ Championship but it is the most important battle for the organizations. Elliott has kept the No. 9 car afloat during the 2023 NASCAR playoffs and should continue to run well as he pursues a Championship 4 appearance for the race team.
