The Hornets just wrapped up a 4-1 homestand and have son six of their last seven games. They find themselves in ninth place in the Eastern Conference, just a game behind the Nets for eighth place. Charlotte is four games behind the sixth-placed Toronto Raptors, who occupy the final guaranteed playoff spot, with 10 games remaining.
The Nets have won seven of their last nine games overall. They get a boost for their final home games as G Kyrie Irving will make his home debut, now eligible to play after the COVID-19 mandate was lifted in New York. Brooklyn has a one-game lead over the Hornets. The Nets trail the seventh-place Cleveland Cavaliers by two games and the sixth-placed Raptors by three games with eight games left in their regular season.
