The Charlotte Hornets (27-27) are on the road Friday night to visit the Brooklyn Nets (37-18) at Barclays Center. Tip-off in Brooklyn will be at 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Hornets-Nets odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.
The Hornets are as banged-up as anyone in the NBA right now and have lost three straight games, falling to the Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers. PG LaMelo Ball remains out, and he has been joined by SF Gordon Hayward, SG Malik Monk and PG Devonte’ Graham on the sidelines.
The Hornets remain in the mix in the Eastern Conference, but they need to turn it around quickly if they’re to make a playoff push.
The Nets, on the other hand, are trending in the opposite direction. They’re healthier now than they have been recently, getting SF Kevin Durant back April 7. They fell 123-117 to the Philadelphia 76ers Wednesday with Durant getting the night off, but they won seven of nine games before that loss.

Hornets at Nets: Odds, lines, predictions and picks
Prediction
Nets 125, Hornets 110
Money line (ML)
With the Nets being so heavily favored, I wouldn’t touch the money line. At -750, it’s not worth putting down even a small wager, even as injured as the Hornets are.

Against the spread (ATS)
The Hornets failed to cover in each of their last three games. They lost to the Hawks and Cavs as slight favorites and lost by 8 points to the Lakers this week. The Nets covered in three of their last four games and although the spread is huge at 12.5 points, I like them to do it again.
Bet the NETS -12.5 (-110) to win by at least 13 points at home, where they’re 22-7 straight up this season.
Over/Under (O/U)
The total went Over in four of the Nets’ last five games. They won’t have C LaMarcus Aldridge defending the paint after the star retired Thursday due to an irregular heartbeat, but they will have Durant and PG Kyrie Irving on the floor.
Bet the OVER 222.5 (-110).
