Following the hiring of Jim Harbaugh as their new head coach, the Los Angeles Chargers are “working to hire” Baltimore Ravens director of player personnel Joe Hortiz for their general manager opening, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Hortiz started his NFL career as an area scout for the Ravens in 1998 before becoming a national scout in 2006. In 2009, Hortiz became Baltimore’s director of college scouting and took over as the director of player personnel in 2019.

Hortiz will take over a talented roster with a star quarterback already in place for the foreseeable future in Justin Herbert and a familiar head coach with previous success at the NFL level with the San Francisco 49ers as they look to keep up in a division dominated by the Kansas City Chiefs.
