Chandler Jones, DeAndre Hopkins are only Cardinals in Touchdown Wire’s top 101 players

They are the only Cardinals to make the cut after five made the player-voted top 100.

Five Arizona Cardinals players were included in this year’s edition of NFL Network’s NFL Top 100 Players. It is voted on by the players. That included safety Budda Baker, quarterback Kyler Murray, receiver Larry Fitzgerald, outside linebacker Chandler Jones and receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

Touchdown Wire’s Doug Farrar and Mark Schofield did one of their own, ranking the top 101 players in the NFL right now.

Only two of those five made the cut — Jones and Hopkins.

Jones ranked 33rd (he was 15th in the player-voted list) and Hopkins ranked 18th (the players voted him eighth).

Yes, the Cardinals were able to acquire either a top-10 or a top-20 player in the league, depending on who is making the list, for a second-round pick and David Johnson.

Jones has been the most productive pass rusher since he entered the league and Hopkins has been one of the most productive receivers.

Their play, combined with the promise and potential of quarterback Kyler Murray, are a big reason why many are bullish about the Cardinals’ chances of competing in 2020.
