Celtics sign C.J. Miles to 10-day hardship exception

The Celtics are adding a 15-year NBA veteran to the team as seven players are currently in health and safety protocol.

The Boston Celtics are preparing to face the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night with an extremely short bench, as a total of seven Celtics players have entered health and safety protocol and are unavailable.

Team across the league have been scrambling to sign emergency backups, many of whom are competing in the G League in Las Vegas at the moment. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Monday that the Celtics have added veteran C.J. Miles via a 10-day hardship exception. Miles will undergo testing in Boston before he’s cleared to join the team.

Miles, a second-round draft pick in 2005, has spent 15 years in the NBA playing for six different franchises. He signed with the G League Ignite just a few days ago before getting the call from the Celtics.
