It seems that Boston Celtics reserve forward Sam Hauser is making himself right at home in the greater Boston community in one of the best ways possible — by giving his time and support for a new basketball court at the local Dorchester YMCA. The Virginia alum recently held a basketball clinic at the newly refurbished court and totally renovated gymnasium.

The Celtics’ second unit sniper leveraged a “special partnership” with local shoe purveyor New Balance to upgrade the local YMCA’s basketball facilities, which Hauser said were better than what he grew up with back home at his local YMCA.

New Balance’s Head of Partnerships Joe Van Buskirk related that the facilities might make the local youth feel like they were professional athletes where “they can go and feel safe.”
