Celtics reportedly pick up 2022-23 team options on Aaron Nesmith, Grant Williams, Payton Pritchard, Romeo Langford

The rookie-scale foursome will be under contract at least one more season with Boston, barring a trade.

Surprising no one, the Boston Celtics elected to pick up the player options on four of their rookie-scale players Monday, per multiple sources.  Aaron Nesmith, Grant Williams, Payton Pritchard, and Romeo Langford all had their team options for the 2022-23 NBA season picked up.

This was widely expected in advance of the news given all four have shown signs of being capable of playing at least deep rotation minutes moving forward, with Williams and Langford already earning consistent time under new head coach Ime Udoka. NBA Insiders Shams Charania of The Athletic and Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN first reported news of the Williams and Langford options being picked up.

Pritchard will be earning just $2.2 million next season, Nesmith $3.8 million, Williams $4.3 million, and Langford $5.6 million, all bargains for their respective levels of production.

Pritchard and Nesmith will both have another team option remaining on their final year (2023-24) of their rookie contracts moving forward.
