Celtics’ Juancho Hernangomez enters health and safety protocols

A fourth Celtics player has entered health and safety protocols ahead of their matchup with the Golden State Warriors.

Boston Celtics center Juancho Hernangomez has entered health and safety protocols, according to the team. Hernangomez is the fourth Celtic to enter protocols and the third on Friday, along with Al Horford and Grant Williams. Jabari Parker is also in protocols for the Celtics.

A number of NBA players have entered health and safety protocols in recent days. The Chicago Bulls were forced to postpone two games this past week due to a lack of available players after 10 of their players are in protocols, according to CBS. The Brooklyn Nets have seven players in protocols and the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks each have five as of now.

Hernangomez has averaged just 4.2 minutes in 15 games played this season off the bench for the Celtics.

The Golden State Warriors, whom the Celtics are facing Friday night, will be without guard Jordan Poole. The guard has been key for the Warriors’ high-octane offense this season, scoring 17.9 points per game in a starting role while guard Klay Thompson returns from injury.
