The sprained ankle that sidelined Boston Celtics big man Luke Kornet for a little more than a week seems to have healed enough for the former Vanderbilt player to return to practice. The team reported the Green Kornet was a full go at practice on Monday.
With starting center Robert Williams III out until some time in December and veteran swingman Danilo Gallinari out for the entire 2022-23 regular season, Kornet’s return will help Boston considerably ahead of its final preseason exhibition tuneup on Friday, Oct. 14 against the Toronto Raptors in Montreal.
The team brought on veteran big man Blake Griffin to help bridge the gap until the Timelord’s return. Having Kornet available should reduce the ask on vet forward Al Horford early in the season.
