Celtics get major boost ahead of facing the Clippers with Jayson Tatum’s return

The Boston Celtics will have Jayson Tatum available when they face the LA Clippers on Saturday.

Jayson Tatum has been cleared to play for the Boston Celtics when they face the LA Clippers on Saturday (Dec. 23.) Tatum missed his team’s most recent win over the Sacramento Kings after tweaking his ankle against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday (Dec. 19.) However, the St. Louis native will now be part of the rotation and should give Boston a significant boost on both sides of the floor.

Not everything has gone the Celtics’ way, though. Kristaps Porzingis has been ruled out with an ankle sprain, while Luke Kornet and Svi Mykhailiuk are both set to miss the game with injury, too. Boston may also receive a second boost, as Kawhi Leonard is currently listed as “questionable” on the Clippers injury report.

With Tatum set to play and Porzingis out of the rotation, Al Horford will likely step into the starting five, with Neemias Queta slotting into the backup big spot, where he’s been impressing in recent weeks.

Boston could win the second game of their West Coast road trip with a victory over the Clippers, which would help build momentum heading into their game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day.
