Celtics coach Brad Stevens: LeBron James should have more MVPs

The Celtics head coach believes people get “bored” from voting for the best player in the league.

Later tonight the NBA’s richest rivalry will be renewed as the Los Angeles Lakers visit the Boston Celtics. Not only is the match-up one featuring the two teams with the most championships in NBA history and two top teams in the NBA but the two teams also share strong connections on the bench.

Before Frank Vogel became the head coach of the Lakers, where he would become the most handsome coach Anthony Davis has ever had, Vogel’s break away from the game took him to be an “unofficial part” of the Boston Celtics coaching staff, according to ESPN’s Zach Lowe. Vogel even stole a couple of plays from Brad Stevens’ playbook to the Lakers. But one thing Vogel didn’t have to steal was LeBron James. And according to Vogel’s pal Stevens, LeBron should have more MVPs than he currently has, which he blames on boredom by the voters.

While it’s still a matter of debate to some, so far this season it looks like LeBron James is in prime position to win that elusive fifth MVP award. If James does get his fifth, he will join Michael Jordan and Bill Russell with five MVPs, trailing only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s All-Time leading six MVP awards.
