Celtics alumnus Carsen Edwards reportedly in advanced talks with Fenerbahce Beko

The Purdue Product may be headed to the Euroleague.

Yet another recent Boston Celtics alumnus may soon be finding a roster spot overseas. The Celtics’ No. 33 pick of the 2019 NBA draft, Carsen Edwards, is in advanced talks to sign with famed Turkish ball club Fenerbahce Beko per SportsTV’s Umit Avci via EuroHoops’ Bugra Uzar.

The former Purdue standout played two seasons with Boston before he was dealt with reserve point guard Kris Dunn and a 2026 second-round draft pick to the Memphis Grizzlies for Juancho Hernangomez in September 2021. He was cut by the Griz, and subsequently signed with the Detroit Pistons for the 2021-22 NBA season.

Now a free agent, it is looking like playing with Fenerbahce Beko in Istanbul in the Euroleague and BSL leagues will be his most profitable and high-level option for the Texan guard’s near-term future.

Edwards averaged 3.6 points and 1.1 rebounds per game in his time as a Celtic.
