Cedric Gray declares for the 2024 NFL draft and opts out of the Duke Mayo bowl game.

North Carolina linebacker [autotag]Cedric Gray[/autotag] announced he will declare for the upcoming NFL draft, opting out of UNC’s Duke Mayo Bowl in the process.

Gray took to social media Monday afternoon, announcing his plans to enter the 2024 NFL draft thanking the UNC for the journey. In the same post, Gray confirmed that he would not be participating in UNC’s bowl game against West Virginia. A decision many players in his position make.

The senior has been the vocal leader for UNC’s defense, becoming a household name around the nation thanks to his strong tackling ability. Gray, in the last two seasons, has 266 tackles, six sacks, and five forced fumbles.

His presence in the passing game has also been notable, with three interceptions and ten pass deflections in two years. Gray won’t be lacing up for UNC again this season, but he will represent him in the Reese’s senior bowl as he looks to raise his draft stock.
