CBS Sports lists Jack Campbell as top 32 NFL draft prospect based on collegiate production

CBS Sports tabbed Jack Campbell as one of its top 32 NFL draft prospects based on his collegiate production.

What didn’t Jack Campbell do on defense as a member of the Iowa Hawkeyes? The Dick Butkus Award winner seemingly helped one of the nation’s best defenses in every way imaginable from tackling, to turnovers, to even getting involved in scoring.

His collegiate production was among some of the best in the nation and stands toe to toe alongside the top prospects in the 2023 NFL draft. CBS Sports has Jack Campbell as one of their top prospects based on the production that they put have put out.

Jack Campbell, LB, IowaCampbell proved to be one of the nation’s top linebackers in each of his last two seasons with the Hawkeyes. He was a unanimous All-American in 2022 after notching 125 tackles, which came on the heels of a 2021 season that saw the 6-foot-5, 249-pounder lead the nation with 143 stops in 14 games. – Barrett Sallee, CBS Sports

Through his career as a member of the Hawkeyes’ top-tier defense, Campbell lit up the stat sheet. He ended his career in Iowa City with 305 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, three forced fumbles, 15 pass deflections, and five interceptions. The output Campbell put out was well recognized as he was a unanimous consensus All-American following the 2022 season.

While his production is among some of the best college football has seen in recent years, the question remains of just how high Campbell will go in this year’s draft. There is a buzz about him sneaking into the back half of the first round to be a defensive staple for a team that is willing to spend a first-round pick on a linebacker.

Many analysts and scouts have Campbell being taken in the second round, which is a downright steal when you look at the talent, instincts, and knowledge a team would be getting.
