The Seattle Seahawks are almost certainly going to use the 2020 NFL draft to shore up their offensive and defensive lines, two major areas of need as they look to stay afloat in a suddenly stacked NFC West.
CBS released their latest mock draft, which has the Seahawks selecting Iowa edge defender A.J. Epenesa. Epenesa is labeled by author Josh Edwards as the steal of the first round.
“Epenesa has no business being on the board this late, as he is a top-10 prospect for me,” Edwards wrote. “Seattle is able to ward off their inner demons telling them to trade down, which they are apt to do.”
Scouting reports for Epenesea glow about his incredible power off the line, and at six-foot-six and 280 pounds, he is an absolute load in both the running and the passing game.
His frame and skill set aligns with a 4-3 defense, and Seattle would be thrilled to get an immediate impact player added to their defense in Epenesa.
It may take a trade up to get him, as a strong combine could explode his stock, but he would be worth it.
