CB Sidney Jones the lone player to surface on Jags’ final injury report for Week 15

The Jags had one lone player on their Week 15 injury report and that was starting CB Sidney Jones, which could be a big deal.

The Jacksonville Jaguars only had one player to surface on their final injury report for Week 15, but it was an important one. That player was starting cornerback Sidney Jones IV, who is still dealing with an Achilles injury.

Jones’ listing on the injury report puts the Jags in a tough spot at cornerback. They are already without starter C.J. Henderson, who went on injured reserve last month. They also placed Tre Herndon on their Reserve/COVID-19 list and practice squad cornerback Josh Nurse went on the list today.

As of now, the Jags could end up with three rookies as their top-2 cornerbacks for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens in Luq Barcoo and Josiah Scott. Barcoo has started on the outside and could do so again, while the Jags could probably go with Scott, who has played in five games, in the nickel. They also have corners Greg Mabin and Brandon Rusnak on the active roster and have Quenton Meeks and Nathan Meadors on their practice squad.

Luckily for the Jags, their lack of cornerbacks could have a minimal impact as the Ravens are ranked 32nd in passing. Then again, it feels like the veteran experience of a receiver like Willie Snead IV and the speed of Marquise Brown could provide issues for a very young group.
