Watch: Steph Curry puts on a show during shooting competition at Warriors training camp

During a shooting competition at Warriors training camp, Steph Curry put on a show.

With the Golden State Warriors back at practice for the 2021 edition of training camp, Steph Curry is back to doing one of the things he does best — shooting the basketball.

At a recent practice, the two-time Most Valuable Player put on a show at San Francisco’s Chase Center during one of the Warriors shooting competitions. Curry rattled off a perfect round of four triples in a row to end the contest.

After drilling his last jumper from the corner, the seven-time All-Star went into celebration mode. Draymond Green and Jordan Poole quickly joined Curry to celebrate.

Curry is coming off a red-hot 2020-21 campaign, earning votes for MVP and a spot on the All-NBA first team. The 33-year-old guard won the scoring title, averaging 32 points per game on 48.2% shooting from the field. Curry added 5.8 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals per contest in 63 games.

The Davidson product will begin his 13th season in the association with a preseason contest against Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m.

Watch: Warriors’ Klay Thompson takes a post-practice swim in the bay

During a break from training camp, Klay Thompson went for a post-practice swim in the San Francisco bay.

It’s honestly a surprise Klay Thompson hasn’t earned a reality television deal by now.

During the offseason, the Golden State Warriors shooting guard has been staying busy with different must-see adventures.

Thompson showing off his boat and classic ride or taking in San Francisco Giants games with a famous Bay Area rapper are just some of the things he’s been involved with during the offseason.

With training camp underway, Thompson is showing no signs of slowing down.

During a break from training camp, Thompson dove into the San Francisco bay for a post-practice swim. After his swim, Thompson let out a celebratory scream in a video on his Instagram story.

Via @BleacherReport on Twitter:

After removing his walking boot during his rehab in March, Thompson took another swim in the bay.

As he finishes the latter stages of his rehab, Thompson is a limited participant at Golden State’s 2021 training camp. There’s still not a set date for his return to Steve Kerr’s lineup with the Warriors. Yet, a swim in the ocean after a day of practice is a positive sign for the five-time All-Star.

Warriors’ Steve Kerr says he feels more confident in Jordan Poole than ever

Heading into his third NBA season, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr says he feels more confident in Jordan Poole than ever.

Throughout the backend of the Golden State Warriors 2020-21 campaign, Jordan Poole’s rise quickly developed into one of the highlights of the season.

After a run with the Santa Cruz Warriors in the G League bubble, Poole burst into Steve Kerr’s lineup. After returning to Golden State, the Michigan product averaged 14.7 points on 43.3% shooting from the field and 35.4% shooting from long distance in 23.5 minutes off the bench. Poole notched 20 or more points in nine games down the final stretch.

Heading to his third season in the association, Poole’s head coach has nothing but praise for the 22-year-old guard. After the first day of practice at Golden State’s 2021 training camp, Steve Kerr said he feels more confident in Poole than ever, calling him the most consistent worker over the last two years.

I feel more confident in Jordan than ever. He’s been our most consistent worker for two years now. You could see the confidence level. He’s shooting shots with ease now that maybe he struggled with a couple of years ago because his body is stronger, more fit, and more fluid.

Watch Kerr’s full presser from Golden State’s first day of practice via YouTube:

With Klay Thompson slated to miss the start of the season as he finishes rehabbing his Achilles injury, Poole will have the opportunity to compete for a starting position alongside Steph Curry.

Once Thompson returns, Poole will play a key role in Golden State’s second unit. The Warriors will need to count on Poole’s microwave scoring ability when Curry and Thompson are off the floor.

If Poole can continue building off his impressive end in 2021, he could be lining up for a breakout campaign.

Warriors rookie Jonathan Kuminga says he’s gaining knowledge from Andre Iguodala

With their lockers right next to each other, Warriors rookie Jonathan Kuminga says he’s “getting a lot of knowledge” from Andre Iguodala.

The Golden State Warriors landed a key signing during the offseason when they brought back Andre Iguodala to the Bay Area on a one-year contract.

While the 2015 NBA Finals Most Valuable Player averaged only 4.4 points on 38.3% shooting from the field with 3.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 0.9 steals in 21.3 minutes per game last season with the Miami Heat, Iguodala’s role with Golden State could be more significant than what he does on the court.

With 17 years of experience in the league, including six seasons playing alongside Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green in Golden State, Iguodala will likely serve as a strong mentor for the Warriors’ young core.

During the Warriors media day on Monday, Golden State’s No. 7 overall pick from the 2021 NBA draft mentioned Iguodala as a player he’s been learning from. Jonathan Kuminga told members of the media that his locker is next to Iguodala’s. The 18-year-old forward said he’s “getting a lot of knowledge” from Iguodala.

I’ve been absorbing pretty much everybody, whoever comes into the gym the day I’m working out. After my workout, I usually just sit down and watch what they’re doing. (Andre) Iguodala is right next to my locker, so I’ve been asking him a couple of questions, not just about basketball, pretty much everything. I’m getting a lot of knowledge from him.

Watch Kuminga’s full media day presser via YouTube:

Coming off one season with the G League Ignite, Kuminga still has a lot he can learn as his career begins to grow with the Warriors. Iguodala should be a player Kuminga leans on as his role develops in Steve Kerr’s system.

Draymond Green to miss start of Warriors training camp with excused absence

The Golden State Warriors will be without Draymond Green at the start of training camp with an excused absence.

To open training camp, the Golden State Warriors will be without a key piece as they begin their prep for the 2021-22 season. Draymond Green will miss the start of Golden State’s training camp in the Bay Area with an excused absence.

At the Warriors’ media day, general manager Bob Myers said the team hopes Green will be available to return for training camp “in the next few days.” Along with media day on Monday, Green was missing from Golden State’s first practice on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Steve Kerr confirmed Green has an excused absence for the Warriors’ start of practice in San Francisco.

Via @957TheGame on Twitter:

After the Warriors’ 2020-21 season ended with back-to-back losses in the postseason play-in tournament, Green quickly joined Team USA for a run through the Tokyo Olympics. In August, the three-time All-Star earned his second gold medal with a win over France.

Once Green makes his debut at Golden State’s 2021 camp, he will have the opportunity to work with new teammates like Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, Otto Porter Jr. and Avery Bradley.

Photos: Headband Klay Thompson back for another workout at Warriors facility

Headband Klay Thompson made another appearance at the Warriors practice facility for a workout.

After dropping a red-hot 52 point effort against the Chicago Bulls in 2018 while wearing a headband due to a cut on his head, the legend of “Headband Klay Thompson” has continued to grow.

While he’s working on his rehab from a torn ACL and torn Achilles injuries that’s kept him out for two consecutive seasons; the headband has been a steady part of Thompson’s wardrobe.

Thompson has been showing off his Jackie Moon-inspired persona at workouts during the offseason. The five-time NBA All-Star broke out the headband again at a recent training session at Golden State’s practice facility in San Francisco.

Check out the photos from Headband Klay in action via @warriors on Twitter:

In a recent injury update, the Warriors said Thompson is making “good progress” with his summer rehab. Before he makes his long-awaited return to Chase Center, the 31-year-old is expected to participate in controlled drills during Golden State’s training camp.

The Warriors are slated to open the 2021 edition of training camp on Sep. 28 in San Francisco.

Watch: Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins working out with Aaron Gordon, Justise Winslow and Jalen Johnson

Before the start of training camp, Andrew Wiggins got in a workout with fellow NBA players Aaron Gordon, Justise Winslow and Jalen Johnson.

Before the Golden State Warriors open training camp for the 2021-22 season, Andrew Wiggins participated in a workout with a trio of fellow NBA players.

Wiggins was recently on the floor with Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon, Los Angeles Clippers forward Justise Winslow and Atlanta Hawks rookie Jalen Johnson.

The four players competed in one-on-one drills with a five-second shot clock. During the training session, Wiggins showed off different moves in his offensive repertoire to get off a shot. The Kansas Jayhawks product displayed some crafty stepbacks.

Via @swishcultures on Twitter:

In his first full campaign with the Warriors, Wiggins averaged 18.6 points on 47.7% shooting from the field and 38% from beyond the arc. The former No. 1 overall pick added 4.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.0 blocks and 0.9 steals in 33.3 minutes per contest.

In 2021-22, Wiggins will have his first opportunity to play alongside a healthy Klay Thompson. Until Thompson makes his long-awaited return from injury to Steve Kerr’s rotation, Wiggins will likely play a key role as a secondary scorer next to Steph Curry.

Golden State’s 2021 training camp is slated to begin on Sep. 28 in San Francisco.

Watch: Warriors’ Jordan Poole throws out first pitch at San Francisco Giants game

Before the red-hot San Francisco Giants met the Atlanta Braves, Warriors guard Jordan Poole tossed the first pitch at Oracle Park.

As they battle the Los Angeles Dodgers for the top spot in the National League West, a San Francisco Giants game has become the hottest ticket in the Bay Area.

Along with seeing members of the Giants like Kris Bryant, Buster Posey and LaMonte Wade Jr., fans at Oracle Park got to see a member of the Golden State Warriors at Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Braves.

Before the Giants took the mound, Jordan Poole was called on to throw out the first pitch. While wearing a No. 3 Giants jersey to match his Golden State uniform, Poole stepped to the bump with coach Alyssa Nakken behind the dish.

Although the pitch was just a bit high, Poole’s toss didn’t skip in front of the plate or completely miss his target.

Via @warriors on Twitter:

Poole’s pitch wasn’t enough to provide the Giants with a bit of magic against the Braves on Sunday. Max Fried and the Braves went on to blank the Giants, 3-0 in San Francisco. After the loss, the Giants hold just a one-game lead over the Dodgers as their playoff race continues to heat up in September.
