Travis Kelce is ready to begin his acting career (even if he’s not retiring from the NFL just yet).
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is officially making the leap to acting.
While he’s not retiring from the NFL just yet, he did just land a role on the new Ryan Murphy horror series Grotesquerie alongside Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance and Lesley Manville, per Variety.
For some, it’s the X-Wings and Tie Fighters and dogfights in space. For others, it was the cool, handsome and cocky Han Solo that drew us in – or the beeps and boops from R2-D2, growls from Chewbacca, the heroics of Luke, or the leadership of Leia. And for others, it was the mystique of the Force, the battle between light and dark, mind tricks, wizardry and, as Han says, hokey religions.
And a lot of us remember the first time we saw a lightsaber ignite. Whether it was Luke waving his father’s saber around in old Ben Kenobi’s cave, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan drawing theirs to discard some Trade Federation droids, or Kylo Ren using his crossguard saber to intimidate and eliminate a group of Resistance fighters.
In the movies and television shows, lightsaber duels – or, in the case of The Last Jedi, fights involving lightsabers – are some of the coolest and consequential moments in Star Wars. It’s where fates are altered, destinies are changed, challenges are conquered, and bonds either grow stronger or completely break. These scenes can be awesome and fantastic, and also heartbreaking and emotional. The best ones are both.
In celebration of May the Fourth, what follows here is a completely unscientific and unofficial ranking of the best lightsaber duels on-screen in Star Wars, from live-action and the cartoons.
Bandit’s having a (Bingo-sized) baby and Lucky’s dad is the midwife!
Bluey is one of the greatest children’s shows ever made for several reasons. The Australian series about a family of blue heelers is both intelligent and often hilarious, imparting lessons about grace and growing up in an accessible way for both kids and parents. It’s also willing to tackle issues ranging from the thoroughly silly to the understatedly important.
This can mean tackling little ideas in big ways and big ones with the imagination of a child. Occasionally that runs against the strict controls of the show’s American streaming partner, Disney+. The streamer’s TV-G rating meant the delay of “Family Meeting,” the episode where the Heelers hold an impromptu court case to determine whether dad Bandit passed gas — “fluffied” in Bluey parlance — in front of eldest daughter Bluey.
It also meant the ongoing prohibition of “Dad Baby,” an episode where youngest daughter Bingo finds an old baby carrier and the girls pretend Bandit is pregnant for the day. That episode can’t be found on Disney+ in North America — but the official Bluey YouTube channel made sure American audiences can finally watch it by releasing it online.
Make no mistake, “Dad Baby” is a classic episode of Bluey. The kids run roughshod over their father in service of learning a lesson. Bandit expresses a level of tolerance that pushes the boundaries of playtime and cements his place in the canon of all-time great television parents. And Lucky’s Dad shows up to get abused with a smile on his face, serving as midwife to bring Bingo into the world (again).
Disney hasn’t given an official reason why the episode doesn’t show up in its library, though it likely centers around the two-minute labor scene that is in no way graphic but does capture the difficulty of the process in standard silly fashion. Disney may have wanted to spare parents from the questions what could follow — pretty reasonable questions about a difficult topic, sure — and shelved “Dad Baby.” Or maybe there’s something else to it.
Either way, Ludo Studios decided we needed to see “Dad Baby” and released it in full online. And in true Bluey form, it’s seven very funny minutes that teach a lesson about growing up and empathy.
Many former players and celebrities attended this crucial game at Madison Square Garden. While the improbable Philadelphia comeback shocked comedian Jon Stewart (who later had a hilarious tweet about it), none seemed angrier after Maxey’s heroics than Morgan and Stiller.
Take a look at the replay of Maxey’s celebration and see if you can spot the pure rage and vitriol from Morgan, the comedian who is widely known for his work on 30 Rock:

Jon Stewart had the best (worst?) seats in the house for this brutal loss.
Knicks fan and comedian Jon Stewart had amazing seats when Tyrese Maxey and the 76ers stormed back to force overtime in Game 5 on Tuesday.
Maxey, who had a stunning 3-pointer in the final seconds of regulation at Madison Square Garden in New York, took the air out of what was otherwise a ruckus building.
His incredible shot left many New York fans, including Stewart, shocked. As he celebrated his accomplishment, Stewart’s priceless reaction was captured in the background on the broadcast.
After the game, once he had time to process what happened and check his phone to see that his reaction turned into a meme, Stewart tweeted out his thoughts.
He said that while has has “respect” for what Maxey did against his beloved Knicks, he is “clearly” getting too old for this type of heartbreak.
Fortunately for Stewart, the Knicks still maintain a series lead over the 76ers. But his favorite NBA team could have advanced to the next round with a win against Philadelphia and now they’ll have to extend the series.
The two Pro Bowl quarterbacks are out at CBS after 48 combined years.
CBS’s bellwether Sunday NFL show is going to look different in 2024. Boomer Esiason and Phil Simms, two longtime standbys for pre- and post-game analysis on The NFL Today, are leaving the network.
Esiason and Simms had spent a combined 48 years at CBS — Esiason 22 and Simms 26. The two former Pro Bowl quarterbacks were reliable fountains of analysis alongside James Brown, Bill Cowher, Nate Burleson and, on a part-time basis, JJ Watt in 2024. In order to fill the voids they’ve left behind, fellow former quarterback Matt Ryan will go from the color commentary side of things to the pre-game show. Watt and Burleson are expected to play larger roles as well.
Here’s what Esiason had to say about his departure:
Boomer Esiason announces he is leaving The NFL Today on CBS, but signed an extension to continue his WFAN morning show with Gio pic.twitter.com/91E0OzmGx9
“I am stepping away from The NFL Today on CBS,” said Esiason on his WFAN radio show. “More their decision than maybe mine. But I really thought the Super Bowl was my swan song and I thought the way CBS handled, especially us in Las Vegas, was amazing.
“I had been there for 22 years. It’s been an unbelievable run for me and I’m so grateful and privileged to have been there for 22 years.”
Simms took to Twitter for a brief confirmation of the news.
Great 26 yrs run with CBS SPORTS. Even though that part of my career is over I look forward to what is next..
The NFL Today will undoubtedly feel different without its wise, occasionally slightly bitter quarterback sages in the middle of the debate. Esiason and Simms brought a certain gravity to the desk, even if the overstuffed nature of ever-expanding studio shows had tamped down their input over the last decade.
Ryan should be able to replicate some of that after a reasonable broadcasting debut last fall. But until we see the new panel in action, it’s hard to know whether this was a necessary step for CBS to move forward or a jump backward for the network’s sports coverage.

Formula 1’s new 24/7 streaming channel in the United States will go live later this week ahead of this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix.
In an attempt to provide more content to the growing U.S. audience of F1 fans, the new channel, operated by C15 Studio, offers round-the-clock F1 content. The subscription-free channel is ad-supported, and will allow fans to watch “F1, F2, F3 and F1 Academy race replays and highlights, full reruns of classic grands prix, and popular racing documentaries”.
The channel will go live later this week and is being distributed via services including Amazon Freevee and Pluto TV, where it will go live on May 1, and Samsung TV Plus where it will launch on May 10.
F1 estimates its fanbase in the United States to be over the 42 million mark, and director of media rights and content creation Ian Holmes says it was important to provide content that both attracts more new fans and satisfies the appetite of existing followers.
“The Formula 1 Channel is the latest development by F1 designed to further evolve and elevate our content experience for fans,” Holmes said. “This service caters to the diverse viewing habits of our USA fanbase and serves as a great entry point for new fans into the sport, through strong curated programming, which aims to showcase the drama of F1.
“Together with C15 Studio, we hope to develop the Formula 1 Channel into an industry leading product, that serves alongside our existing live broadcast offering with ESPN and F1 TV, to give fans a truly comprehensive F1 experience 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
Reruns and content relating to the previous race will only become available five days after the grand prix has taken place, but will also include detailed highlights and expert analysis.
The new limited series about Donald Sterling’s Clippers scandal has premiered a new trailer.
A new trailer has premiered for Clipped, a limited series dramatization of the Donald Sterling scandal that led the NBA to oust him from Los Angeles Clippers ownership in 2014.
The new series stars sitcom veteran Ed O’Neill as Sterling, Laurence Fishburne as then-Clippers coach Doc Rivers, Jackie Weaver as Shelly Sterling and Cleopatra Coleman as V. Stiviano, Sterling’s personal assistant.
The trailer promises an in-depth look at how Sterling’s racist comments derailed his ownership of one of the most lucrative franchises in the NBA.
Castle Rock and Feud: Bette and Joan producer Gina Welch created the series, which is based on ESPN’s 30 For 30 podcast series The Sterling Affairs from Ramona Shelburne.
The six-episode series is slated to premiere on June 4.
