Titans’ Brady Breeze kicked out of practice for hit on Dez Fitzpatrick

It was not a good day for Titans 2021 sixth-round pick and safety, Brady Breeze.

Tennessee Titans 2021 sixth-round pick and safety Brady Breeze did not have a good day during the team’s seventh practice of training camp on Wednesday.

While we don’t have video, Ben Arthur of the Tennessean notes that Breeze was kicked out of practice for a hit to the head on fellow rookie and wide receiver, Dez Fitzpatrick.

“Titans practice over. Safety Brady Breeze was kicked out of practice near the end for a hit to the head on Dez Fitzpatrick in the end zone,” Arthur wrote on Twitter.

Breeze has been mostly quiet so far in training camp, and we did not include him in our latest 53-man roster projection with the Titans having a crowded situation for the backup safety roles. His already uphill climb just got steeper.

The Carolina Panthers had a similar situation occur in their training camp on Tuesday, when Safety J.T. Ibe hit wide receiver Keith Kirkwood while in the air. Ibe was cut almost immediately.

Titans training camp: News, notes, video from first padded practice

The Titans strapped on the pads for the first time in training camp.

Business has officially picked up at Tennessee Titans training camp, as the team held its first padded practice on Tuesday, which is a big step in preparing for the 2021 season.

We’ve seen plenty of action throughout OTAs and mandatory minicamp, but all of that has happened with players wearing practice jerseys and shorts.

As coaches will tell you, the real evaluations begin when the players strap on the pads and bang bodies. The biggest hit we saw came from rookie wideout Dez Fitzpatrick, who lowered the boom on corner Elijah Molden (video of that can be seen below).

Among the most notable absences were wide receivers Julio Jones and Josh Reynolds, and tight end Geoff Swaim. Jones left practice early on Monday, while Reynolds and Swaim have not participated since last Thursday.

Now, what you came for: all of the news, notes, video and post-practice presser highlights from Tuesday’s session.

Titans training camp: News, notes and video from Day 5 of practice

Titans CB Caleb Farley made his training camp debut on Monday.

We thought we were in for just another day at Tennessee Titans training camp on Monday, but business picked up when the team announced that 2021 first-round pick and cornerback, Caleb Farley, had been activated off the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list after passing his physical.

Farley started out training camp on the list after needing a bit more time to recover from his March back surgery. Farley was able to make his practice debut on Monday, although he participated in a limited fashion.

Two other bits of good news came with that, as offensive lineman Ty Sambrailo and running back Jeremy McNichols were activated off the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.

With the activations of Sambrailo, Farley and McNichols, the Titans now have offensive lineman Aaron Brewer on the NFI, and outside linebacker Bud Dupree on the PUP.

Without further ado, the news, notes, video and post-practice presser highlights from the training camp session on Monday morning.

Watch: First look at Titans’ Caleb Farley in training camp

A look at some of the work Caleb Farley did early on in his Titans practice debut.

The Tennessee Titans revealed some huge news on Monday morning, announcing that the team had activated 2021 first-round pick and cornerback Caleb Farley off the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list.

Farley, who was taken with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft, was unable to participate in OTAs following March back surgery, which also prompted his placement on the NFI list in the first place.

However, with his passing a physical and activation off the list, Farley was able to make his Titans training camp debut, albeit in a limited fashion.

Here are some videos of the rookie putting in work early on in the session (he’s wearing No. 3).

Farley will now compete for a starting role in the Titans’ secondary, which has plenty of question marks ahead of the 2021 campaign.

Make sure to check back with us later on during the day, as we’ll have a full recap of Monday’s practice, with news, notes, video and post-practice press conference highlights.

Titans’ Julio Jones talks chemistry, lawsuit, more in first camp presser

For the first time since training camp began, Julio Jones addressed the media.

For the first time since training camp began, and for the first time since his introductory press conference  in the wake of his trade from the Atlanta Falcons in June, Tennessee Titans wide receiver Julio Jones addressed the media.

Jones has looked great from what we’ve seen of him thus far, but with the Titans easing him into action, he hasn’t participated in drills against his teammates just yet.

Regardless, something as simple as watching his footwork has been a pleasure. He truly stands out above the rest, even in mundane drills.

Jones touched on a number of topics after Saturday’s practice, including the lawsuit against him, his chemistry with quarterback Ryan Tannehill, how he’s transitioning into his new home, and much, much more.

Check out all of the highlights below.

Note: In case you missed Saturday’s practice, you can check out all the news, notes, video and post-practice presser highlights right here.

Titans training camp: News, notes, video, presser highlights from Day 4

The Titans were back on the practice field on Saturday for their fourth session of training camp.

The Tennessee Titans hit the practice field once again on Saturday for their fourth session of training camp.

After seeing several key players either take the day off or have a shortened session on Friday, they were back in action on Saturday, including wide receivers Julio Jones and A.J. Brown.

Wide receiver Josh Reynolds, who left practice early on Thursday and didn’t participate on Friday, did not return to the practice field on Saturday. Tight end Geoff Swaim was another notable absence.

The Titans saw two players leave practice early due to injury on Saturday. Tight end Briley Moore was carted off with a knee ailment, while outside linebacker Derick Roberson left with an undisclosed injury.

One of the biggest storylines of this training camp comes from the kicker battle. Neither Blake Haubeil nor Tucker McCann have had much success  lately, with the latest example of their struggles coming on Saturday.

Now, a full recap of the Titans’ fourth training camp practice (note: after the news, notes and videos sections, we have post-practice presser highlights, also).

Tennessee Titans training camp: News, notes and video from Day 3

Several notable Titans either got the day off or had a shortened session.

The Tennessee Titans hit the practice field once again on Friday for the third session of 2021 training camp. The players have yet to strap on the pads, which will come on Monday after taking Sunday off.

Several notable Titans either did not participate or had a shortened session on Friday, although there doesn’t appear to be any concern as said players are likely getting a rest.

With so many notable players receiving a break, this was a great opportunity for those players on the roster bubble to get more looks.

Unfortunately, reviews for the practice overall were lackluster to say the least. Here’s all the important news, notes and video, as well as highlights from post-practice pressers, from Day 3 of Titans training camp.

Note: In case you missed our recap of Day 2, you can check out all the news, notes and video right here. We’ve also provided the remaining training camp schedule below, under the news and notes, videos and post-practice presser highlights sections.

Titans’ Kendall Lamm shares ‘TMI’ in hilarious exchange with media

Kendall Lamm is a national treasure, and we must protect him at all costs.

We haven’t heard much from new Tennessee Titans offensive tackle, Kendall Lamm, since being signed by the team in March, but after hearing him speak to the media on Thursday, we like him… a lot.

One thing that jumps off the page at you about Lamm is that he keeps it real. He’s going to say what’s on his mind, and isn’t going to mince words in the process.

Lamm, who is battling for the starting right tackle spot with second-rounder Dillon Radunz in training camp, said he isn’t sweating the competition and is ready to take on whatever role he lands, per Jim Wyatt of Titans Online.

Thrown into his answer, though, was a little “TMI” (too much information).

“Whatever happens, happens… this is a crazy game. Excuse my language, but (expletive) happens. That’s just what it is. So, at the drop of a dime you’ve got to be prepared. For me, we’ve got a long camp ahead, so whatever comes, whatever spot I get… but I don’t necessarily try to put too much on the plate. Right now I’m going to be focused on talking to y’all, soon as I go in there, taking a nice (expletive), then going to get in my cold tub and keeping it moving…”

While that answer might make it seem like Lamm doesn’t care what role he lands, he made it abundantly clear that he does want to start, just like any football player, he just isn’t going to let it consume him.

“Let’s not kid… I don’t think anybody ever played football not to want to start. Since I was eight years old, I wanted to start, but at the same time I’m not going to sit here and focus on that; in the back of my mind, possibly.”

The video of Lamm’s exchange can be seen below (warning: NSFW language).

This man is a national treasure and we need to protect him at all costs.

As far as his competition is concerned, Lamm had nothing but good things to say about Radunz and is doing his best to help the rookie along, per AtoZ Sports Nashville.

“Dillon’s a great guy. Young dude, of course going to come along, training camp’s for that. All I can try to do is be a good teammate, just try to help him along in the drills. If I give him a look, give him the best look, see little things. Of course, this is his first year, this is my seventh, so I’ve seen a little bit more than him. But at the same time, just talking to him. Like I said, communication is huge, so being able to talk and help him along, that’s what I’m here for.”

Could the Titans have landed a better fit for their offensive line room than Lamm? After seeing this, we think not.

Titans kickers struggle on Day 2 of training camp

Mike Vrabel acknowledged the struggles of his kickers after practice.

The Tennessee Titans entered training camp with a shaky situation at kicker, which is troublesome considering the team has seen major issues at the position the past two seasons.

The Titans are currently seeing a positional battle unfold between a pair of undrafted free agents in Tucker McCann and Blake Haubeil, neither of whom have ever attempted a kick in the NFL.

The concern over this situation came to life on Thursday during Tennessee’s second training camp practice, where McCann and Haubeil both struggled.

According to beat writers on the ground, McCann, a 2020 UDFA, and Haubeil, a 2021 UDFA, both missed two of their five kicks.

McCann made attempts from 33, 40 and 43 yards, but misfired from 37 and 49 yards out. Meanwhile, Haubeil was good from 33, 37 and 43 yards out, but missed his chances from 40 and 49 yards. All four misses went wide right.

This comes just one day after Tennessee’s kickers made all of their attempts. McCann appeared to be the more impressive of the two in that instance, though.

When asked about the kicker situation after practice, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel acknowledged that both had issues while kicking in front of the whole team, which he says was a test for the inexperienced duo.

We still expect the Titans to add a kicker during training camp, and hopefully it’s veteran Stephen Gostkowski, who is the best option available currently and was solid as the team’s starter in the second half of 2020.

During his opening presser of training camp, Vrabel wouldn’t rule out the team making an addition at the position.

If this keeps up, the Titans might be adding that kicker sooner rather than later.

Titans training camp: News, notes and video from Day 2 of practice

A look at what went down at Day 2 of Titans training camp.

After holding their first practice of training camp on Wednesday, the Tennessee Titans were back on the field on Thursday for Day 2.

Day 1 featured some standout performances, as wide receivers A.J. Brown and Racey McMath, and defensive lineman Teair Tart were among the most impressive players.

But there’s still a long way to go for all of these players, who have yet to strap on the full pads, something that will take place after the first four practices.

Thursday was yet another opportunity for players vying for starting roles or roster spots to show their stuff. Here’s the news, notes and video from beat writers and media on the ground at Tennessee’s latest session.
