Want to work for the new Tiger Woods golf league TGL? The league is holding a job fair

The outside shell of the towering indoor golf arena is complete.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — The outside shell of the towering indoor golf arena rising on Palm Beach State College’s Palm Beach Gardens campus is complete.

Teams of players from around the world will compete in the TGL team at the SoFi Center starting in January. In the meantime, crews are working on the interior elements of the arena, entry pavilion, exterior plaza and player performance building.

TGL is the interactive golf league led by PGA Tour players Tiger Woods, who lives in Jupiter Island, and Rory McIlroy, who has a home in Jupiter. The first match is scheduled to be broadcast on ESPN on Jan. 7 during prime time.

Pieces of red steel framing sit on the outside of the building. They mark the site of the entry pavilion, where crews will install an LED screen and signs.

The steel, walls and roof are also up on its player-performance building, a smaller structure on the south end of the arena where golfers will warm up.

Inside the arena, crews have installed a steel seating structure, a 46-foot-by-64-foot Jumbotron-type screen, HVAC ductwork, broadcast lighting, the framing of the owners’ boxes and player benches, according to a spokesperson for TGL presented by SoFi.

The arena is set for completion in mid-December, but players will start hitting balls at the SoFi Center in early November, its spokesperson said.

The entrance will be on the north end of the SoFi Center under construction for the TGL indoor golf league that was founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy on Palm Beach State College land on October 21, 2024, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Crews began construction on March 18 and now are working toward full “dry-in.”

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Florida — The indoor golf arena rising on the Palm Beach State College campus in Palm Beach Gardens now resembles a nearly enclosed building.

Five months before teams of players from around the world begin to compete in TGL team play there, crews have completed work on the towering SoFI Center’s roof and sides.

Next, they will work on the steel framing for its “surrounding concourse,” a part of the building that juts out in the front. This will be the arena’s entrance area with space for concessions, according to a spokesperson for TGL presented by SoFi.

TGL is the interactive golf league that’s led by PGA Tour players Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, who both have homes in the region. The first match is scheduled to be broadcast on ESPN on Jan. 7, 2025, during prime time.

Crews began construction on March 18 and now are working toward full “dry-in” — when the building’s shell is complete and protected from wind and rain — in early September.

After that, interior and tech teams will install some of the SoFi Center’s technology, including rigging the arena for lighting, cameras and audio, installing motorization tech under the putting green and putting in screen framing and LED boards.

A 46-foot-by-64-foot Jumbotron-type screen will also be installed in time for a full rehearsal in mid-fall.

These same tech elements were originally installed in an inflatable dome, the first iteration of the arena, according to the spokesperson. Those plans were scrapped when blustery weather and a power outage left the dome in tatters.

Where are we on the TGL timeline? Here’s a full look at league led by Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy

The league’s first match is just around the corner, set to begin Jan. 7, 2025.

In August of 2022, a new vision for golf was born.

Backed by TMRW Sports, golf legends Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy headed the creation of Tomorrow’s Golf League, an interactive league that fuses the traditional sport and advanced technology in an indoor arena.

The Palm Beach Gardens-based league was originally set to launch in January of this year but was pushed back due to arena damages caused by a windstorm and power outage back in November.

Now, the league’s first match is just around the corner, set to begin Jan. 7, 2025. Follow along Woods and McIlroy’s journey to tee time.

New Tiger Woods golf arena at PBSC campus in Palm Beach Gardens could be metal

Will Tiger Woods’ new tech golf league get a metal arena on Palm Beach State College land in Palm Beach Gardens?

The PBSC Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet soon to discuss further a proposal to rebuild the indoor golf arena on the school’s campus off PGA Boulevard with prefabricated metal instead of an air-inflated dome.

The Palm Beach State College Board of Trustees will allow TMRW Sports to construct a permanent arena for an interactive golf league led by stars such as Tiger Woods and Rory McElroy on their Palm Beach Gardens campus — just as long as the company pays it hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.

TGL, as the league is known, was supposed to start play this year in an inflatable dome on a 3-acre site along PGA Boulevard. In November, when work on the dome was nearly done, fierce winds and rain ripped apart the dome, forcing TMRW Sports to change plans.

TGL, the interactive golf league headed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, has announced the first three dates for its inaugural 2025 season after receiving approval from Palm Beach State College last Friday to construct a permanent arena.

The league, backed by TMRW Sports, will play its first three matches the first three Tuesdays in January, debuting Jan. 7. The prime-time matches will be televised by ESPN. The remainder of the schedule was not revealed.

TGL, the Palm Beach Gardens-based interactive golf league, is “full steam ahead” according to one of its co-founders, Hall of Famer Tiger Woods.

Woods, the Jupiter Island resident, answered questions via e-mail exclusively for The Palm Beach Post (part of the USA Today Network) about his team, Jupiter Links GC, and the league that has overcome the setback of the roof on its original building collapsing in November due to a power outage and wind storm. The incident forced the start date to be pushed back one year.

Tiger Woods’ TGL team includes top 10 player in the world, rising PGA Tour star

Max Homa called it “a dream” to play in Tiger Woods’ group the first two days of the Masters. When asked following Friday’s competition what he will remember from his round, he said just “a lot of Tiger stuff.”

Now, Homa will build on those memories going forward.

Max Homa gave a quick lesson Tuesday when it comes to TGL, the interactive golf league headed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

And he kept coming back to one word: fun.

“It should be fun,” he said. “I think you’re going to have to see it to fully get it for everybody like it’s a lot bigger than playing simulator golf.”

Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy-led TGL rosters for all six teams in interactive golf league

TGL, the interactive golf league headed by Woods and Rory McIlroy, is preparing for its inaugural season, which starts Jan. 7. The league will be played in Palm Beach Gardens at a venue to be built on the campus of Palm Beach State College.

Here are the rosters. Boston and San Francisco each will add a fourth player. Although San Francisco’s team officially has not been revealed, its roster will include those remaining players who joined TGL.

With less than seven months before TGL launches in Palm Beach Gardens, the interactive golf league headed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy has filled its final roster spot.

Japanese legend Hideki Matsuyama was announced as the fourth member of Boston Common Golf, joining Jupiter’s McIlroy, Keegan Bradley and Adam Scott. Matsuyama, ranked No. 12 in the world, replaces Tyrrell Hatton, who vacated his spot on the team after joining LIV Golf.

How Palm Beach Gardens is growing: Tiger Woods’ golf arena towers over PBSC campus

Crews build the SoFi Center for the TGL indoor golf league that was founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy on Palm Beach State College land on July 10, 2024, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

The indoor golf arena rising on the Palm Beach State College campus in Palm Beach Gardens now towers over nearby homes, neighborhood buildings, passing delivery trucks and neighboring trees at around 75 feet tall.

Crews have finished building the SoFi Center’s foundations. And the steel and walls and roof panels are on site. Roof work began this month, and crews are working six days a week for 10 hours per day, said a spokesperson for TGL, the interactive golf league that will call the center home. That league is being led by golf legends Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, who both have homes in the region.

The league will debut in January 2025.

The TGL, a new tech-infused league started by Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and their joint venture TMRW Sports, was originally slated to debut earlier this year, but the circuit ran into early trouble when its stadium’s roof collapsed.

The damage was extensive and forced the TGL to push back its debut date to early 2025.

“The postponement brings mixed feelings of disappointment and excitement. Above all, we are happy that no one was injured. We are looking forward to the launch of TGL,” McIlroy said at the time. “Given the circumstances, while the delay is disappointing, the postponement will allow us to regroup, refocus and return stronger.”

In March, the TGL announced the first matches will be held on Jan. 7, 2025, and that the new stadium would be made with a steel-supported structure instead of the bubble that collapsed the first time around.

Construction of the new SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, is underway and you can check out several aerial photos below.

Niall Horan has taken an ownership stake in Boston Common Golf after investing in the TGL team. He will be assuming the role of ambassador, according to a statement made on the golf team’s website.

Citing backing by Tiger Woods and Northern Irish professional golfer Rory McIlroy, Horan said in the statement that he believes the league the team is a part of will be a success.

“I can’t wait to experience team golf in this unique format that merges technology with green grass play,” Horan said. “Being able to combine my love for the game and my friendship with Rory into a relationship that helps launch a new concept in golf is truly special.”

While in the public limelight, Horan became a prominent figure in the professional golfing scene, serving as a caddy for McIlroy and seen at several other golfing events.

In 2016, Horan and sports industry professional Mark McDonnell founded golf management company, Modest! Golf.

“A keen golfer Niall has spent the last ten years spending as much time as possible on all the golf tours including the Challenge, European and U.S. PGA Tour and is a driving force behind the Modest! Golf business,” Horan’s profile on the Modest! Golf Management website says.

What is Boston Common Golf

Boston Common Golf is one of the six teams in the golf league TGL, which promises to combine technology and innovation through the fusion of physical and virtual golf with multi-hour games of golf.

Ludvig Aberg joins TGL’s Bay Golf Club in announcement of final of six teams

The Bay Golf Club’s inaugural roster features four players all ranked inside the top 40.

The announcement of the final of the six rosters for the inaugural season of TGL figured to be a mere formality. But it included this twist: Swedish sensation Ludvig Aberg, who was just wrapping up an impressive college career at Texas Tech at this time a year ago, has joined the ranks expected to compete when the league debuts in January.

The Bay Golf Club’s inaugural roster features four players all ranked inside the top 40 in the Official World Golf Ranking, including two in the top seven.

The team features sixth-ranked Aberg, who has won on both the DP World Tour and PGA Tour, helped Team Europe win the Ryder Cup last fall and finished second in the Masters in his major debut; No. 3 Wyndham Clark; rising star Min Woo Lee (No. 32); and 2019 British Open champion Shane Lowry (No. 40), who just teamed with Rory McIlroy to win the PGA Tour’s Zurich Classic at New Orleans a week ago.

The team reaches global fan bases with golfers from the U.S., Sweden, Ireland, and Australia and a combined social audience of nearly 2 million. With this announcement, TGL has now announced all six team brands and 23 of the 24 players on team rosters. (Tyrrell Hatton was announced as a member of the Boston-based franchise but became ineligible when he signed with LIV Golf.)

Marc Lasry, owner of the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks, is the majority owner of the franchise through his Avenue Sports Fund and is joined by co-owners Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Andre Iguodala of the four-time NBA champion Golden State Warriors. Completing the Bay Golf Club’s ownership group are global stars English footballer, John Stones and Formula 1 driver Alex Albon, and Olympic surfers Leonardo Fiorvanti and Kanoa Igarashi.

The Bay Golf Club’s logo was introduced too – its branding pays homage to the team’s Northern California roots. According to a press release, “The logo marries the majestic redwood forest with the rhythmic elements of Golf. The harmonious color palette reflects the lush landscape and golfing allure of the region, blending modern sophistication with the region’s breathtaking scenery to bring to life a new take on the classic traditions in golf.”

TGL is a new team-based golf league in partnership with the PGA Tour where Tour golfers compete in a tech-driven competition that features a data-rich virtual course and highly dynamic short-game complex. The first TGL season will start in early 2025.

Tiger Woods is fired up for the start of TGL: ‘It’s starting to feel real’

There is only one TGL team brand and roster left to be revealed and that should be happening very soon.

TGL, the Palm Beach Gardens-based interactive golf league, is “full steam ahead” according to one of its co-founders, Hall of Famer Tiger Woods.

Woods, the Jupiter Island resident, answered questions via e-mail exclusively for The Palm Beach Post about his team, Jupiter Links GC, and the league that has overcome the setback of the roof on its original building collapsing in November due to a power outage and wind storm. The incident forced the start date to be pushed back one year.

“Once we have all teams and rosters finalized, I think people will start to learn more about our competition, technology and format,” Woods said. “It’s starting to feel real and I couldn’t be more excited for January.”

Woods’ team, which includes Max Homa, Tom Kim and Kevin Kisner, was revealed Monday. All six four-man rosters are known, with the exception of two spots. The San Francisco team has yet to be officially revealed.

The final piece was TMRW Sports Group, which owns TGL, receiving approval from Palm Beach State College to construct a permanent arena on its campus along PGA Boulevard. That came one month ago. The venue, which will be known as the SoFi Center, will have seating for 1,500 fans.

TMRW Sports was formed by sports executive Mike McCarley, Woods and Jupiter’s Rory McIlroy in partnership with the PGA Tour.

The league is scheduled to launch Jan. 7 with matches held once a week. The plan is for each team to play five matches followed by playoffs.

Here is what Woods told The Post about his team and the progress being made:

Q: How did Jupiter Links GC come together?

A: “TGL league policy was to prioritize player schedules first so that all the guys could commit to and play their normal, desired PGA Tour schedule. Last thing we wanted was a player to not play in an event due to a TGL match.

“With that, I have three guys on my team that I enjoy being around, that I know are going to work hard and grind as team members, can talk a little trash and will have a great time. If I compete in something, I want to win. Jupiter Links now has one of the top all-around players in the world in Max Homa, one of the fastest-rising young stars in Tom Kim and I’ll put Kiz up against anyone in team play. So while I didn’t hand pick this team, I’m thrilled at where Jupiter Links Golf Club stands.”

Q: What do you like about how each players’ game fits the TGL format?

A: “I think each player is going to bring a lot of game and personality to Jupiter Links. TGL’s format, which includes a shot clock, time outs, and both team and individual match play, is really going to highlight our players’ talents and bring a fresh, modern, and fast-paced twist to the game we all love so much.”

Q: What is your excitement level on how TGL is progressing with its new venue, teams being announced?

A: “We are full steam ahead on the new design and build of SoFi Center and after this Jupiter Links announcement, there is only one TGL team brand and roster left to be revealed – the San Francisco team – and that should be happening very soon.

“Once we have all teams and rosters finalized, I think people will start to learn more about our competition, technology and format. It’s starting to feel real and I couldn’t be more excited for January.”

Tiger Woods, Max Homa highlight TGL roster for Jupiter Links Golf Club

A rising star and PGA Tour veteran round out the four-man team.

Like most players of his generation, Max Homa grew up idolizing Tiger Woods on the golf course. Now the two are teammates.

TGL, the tech-infused golf league backed by Woods and Rory McIlroy slated to now start early in 2025, announced its latest team roster on Monday morning. Woods’ Jupiter Links Golf Club will feature the fan-favorite Homa, rising star Tom Kim and veteran Kevin Kisner.

“I have already shared my excitement and optimism for TGL as a league and product,” said Woods, who is part owner of Jupiter Links. “Now that we have finalized our roster with a team of world-class golfers, I am even more confident that this group will proudly represent the Jupiter area and connect with our fans for years to come.”

The club said the logo “brings to life the vibrant energy of Jupiter, with the ‘Palm Flag’ signature element combining beach and golf lifestyle with a golf pin flag and palm tree. The handwritten font is a nod to Tiger’s signature and the palm branches breaking the red circle represent the rising sun on the horizon.” As for the colors, the primary is, of course, “Tiger Red,” alongside midnight blue, sand and sunrise.

Blitzer is also a co-owner of MLB’s Cleveland Guardians and the NFL’s Washington Commanders, as well as a General Partner of Crystal Palace Football Club in the English Premier League. New York-based TGL team to feature Xander Schauffele, Cameron Young

New York Golf Club is the latest TGL team to be announced.

The New York TGL team has one player on its roster from the Empire State, but it also has two California boys and an Englishman.

New York Golf Club is the latest TGL team to be announced, and it will compete in the league beginning in January 2025. Its four-player roster is comprised of Xander Schauffele, Matt Fitzpatrick, Cameron Young and Rickie Fowler.

“New Yorkers expect and deserve the best, and we couldn’t be more excited to have four of the best players in the world serve as an extension of the thriving golf and sporting culture of our city and region,” said Steve Cohen, owner of the NYGC and the New York Mets. “Rickie, Xander, Matt, and Cameron’s unwavering dedication to the sport, successful track records, and passion for winning is undisputable, and we look forward to watching them compete on golf’s newest stage.”

Per the release, “NYGC’s logo is inspired by New York’s state bird, the Eastern Bluebird. These birds are commonly found where forests meet fields, and particularly on golf courses. Our design features a dynamic swinging club crafted into the form of a wing with four grooves, one for each of our players. The circle pays homage to the circles on our scorecards and the iconic NYC Subway circle.”

Since turning professional in 2009, Fowler has recorded 10 wins, including the 2015 Players Championship. His most recent title came at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic last July.

Schauffele has been a top-10 player in the world for the better part of the last five years. Since turning professional in 2015, he has recorded seven PGA Tour titles, two DP World Tour wins and an Olympic Gold Medal in Tokyo.

Fitzpatrick became England’s first major champion since 2016 when he won the 2022 U.S. Open at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, joining Jack Nicklaus as the only players to win a U.S. Open and U.S. Amateur at the same venue.

In 2022, Young earned Rookie of the Year honors when he became the seventh player since 1980 to collect five runner-up finishes in a season on Tour, including a second-place finish at the Open Championship and T-3 at the PGA Championship.

More on the league’s format can be found here.
