In the narrow perspective of Ringz Culture, winning the championship is the only thing that matters in the NBA. Taking that rationale to the extreme, one could argue that any statistical production that doesn’t result in a title is meaningless, and only performances during championship years are significant.

If that is the case, who would be the top scorer in championship seasons? The answer is clear: Michael Jordan would be at the No. 1 spot in this made-up ranking with 18,580 points, well ahead of Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, LeBron James, or anyone else typically mentioned in GOAT debates.

LeBron James made history in the Lakers’ season opener. He not only became the first NBA player to compete alongside his son but also surpassed Kobe Bryant for the most missed shots in NBA history, a record Bryant had held since 2014.

Make no mistake, though… Despite this record, LeBron has been a highly efficient scorer in the NBA, shooting better than 50 percent in 13 different seasons. Meanwhile, Bryant never exceeded 47 percent – though Kobe played during an era of tougher defense.

Bucs QB Baker Mayfield made history in Week 1 win against Commanders

Mayfield’s dominant performance was the first of its kind since Troy Aikman did it to the same Washington team in 1999.

The talk of the NFL has been quarterback play stemming from Week 1 of the season. One of the stars that is being discussed is the performance of Baker Mayfield in the Buc’s dominant win against the Washington Commanders.

Turns out his performance was more monumental than previously thought.

Mayfield’s dominant performance against the Commanders was the first of its kind since Troy Aikman did it to the same Washington team in 1999. Before the turn of the century, Aikman was able to kick off the season against Washington and threw for five touchdowns in a one-sided win for the Cowboys.

Fast forward 25 years later and we see Mayfield enter the history books.

Bucs fans are hoping It is just the start of things for the team this year and for Mayfield. People are already discussing how composed and relaxed he looks with new offensive coordinator Liam Coen. Having a season long performance of this could lead to a special season for the Bucs and Mayfield.

More milestones within reach for Mike Evans in 2024

Mike Evans can strengthen his Hall of Fame case by adding a few more milestones to his already legendary career this season

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans already has a career worthy of Hall of Fame consideration, but after the numbers he put up last year (in his 10th NFL season, at 30 years old), he’s nowhere near the end of his legendary run.

As he embarks on his 11th year with the Bucs, the former top-10 pick out of Texas A&M has another long list of career milestones he can achieve this season, which were noted in this year’s NFL Record and Fact Book (courtesy of Greg Auman, Fox Sports).

Evans has the chance to add his name to a lot more short lists when it comes to the NFL history books this season, and every time he does that, he makes it even more likely that he’ll have his own bronze bust in Canton, taking his rightful place among the best players the game has ever seen.

Oh, just another ridiculous Mike Evans stat

Mike Evans’ combination of consistent production and durability is unmatched

At this point, Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans are well aware of just how incredible wide receiver Mike Evans has been throughout his first 10 seasons in the NFL.

But it seems like every now and then, we still come across yet another Evans stat that’s just mind-blowing.

The latest number comes from sports medicine doctor Jesse Morse, who points out that Evans has more 1,000-yard seasons (10) than games missed due to injury (six) in his 10-year run with the Bucs so far.

Evans is obviously a future Hall of Famer, but he’s still playing at an extremely high level after a decade in the league, leading the NFL with 13 touchdown receptions last season at 30 years old.

Don’t be surprised if he keeps making his Canton case even stronger with another big year in 2024.

Bucs S Antoine Winfield Jr. was historic as a tackler in 2023

Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Antoine Winfield Jr. set a franchise record for tackles by a defensive back in a single season last year

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have seen some talented tacklers come through their defensive backfield over the years, but safety Antoine Winfield Jr. put himself at the top of the list with his All-Pro performance last season.

Winfield set a new franchise record in 2023 with 122 tackles, the most ever by a Bucs defensive back in a single season.

Hall of Famers like John Lynch and Rondé Barber have put together some incredible numbers in the tackle column over their legendary careers in Tampa Bay, but Winfield has a chance to put himself in that same echelon if he keeps up his current level of play.

Winfield just got a new four-year contract extension that makes him the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history, so he’ll continue to cement his legacy as one of the best defender Bucs fans have ever seen.

Check out this awesome Mike Evans stat

Mike Evans has another ridiculous stat to his credit heading into the 2024 NFL season

At this point, Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans are used to seeing ridiculous stats from wide receiver Mike Evans, but that doesn’t make it any less fun every time we see a new one.

The Bucs’ official Twitter account recently pointed out that Evans has the most receiving yards of any player in the NFL since 2015, which isn’t a huge surprise, considering he’s topped 1,000 yards receiving in each of his 10 seasons since entering the league in 2014.

Evans is primed to keep padding that lead in 2024 after signing a new two-year contract extension to remain in Tampa Bay.
