The USA TODAY High School Sports Awards is pleased to announce the 2021-22 All-USA TODAY HSSA Girls Swimming & Diving Team!

These 24 standouts will be honored as nominees for national Softball Player of the Year. The winner and three finalists will be revealed on July 31 during an on-demand broadcast. This year will feature top athletes in 29 boys and girls sports awards categories as well as special honors like Special Olympics Athlete of the Year, Rising Star and Play of the Year.

Lance Schyck named Boys Wrestler of the Year at the Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte High School Sports Awards

Lemon Bay High School wrestling star adds to his incredible resume on the mat.

Lance Schyck is as inspirational as he is unstoppable.

The Lemon Bay High School (Fla.) wrestling star won a state title his junior year— on a torn ACL!—and recaptured the state crown his senior year for the follow-up act.

He finished the season 40-0, adding a consecutive undefeated notch to a three-year total of 118-1.

For his efforts in 2022, Schyck won Boys Wrestler of the Year at the Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte High School Sports Awards.

Next up: Central Michigan, where he’ll wrestle for coach Tom Borelli.

High School Sports Awards ‘Rapid Fire’ with Oregon basketball recruit Chance Gray

Get to know more about the Oregon Ducks basketball recruit.

Five-star point guard Chance Gray sat down with USA TODAY High School Sports Awards‘ Randy Buffington in the latest edition of “Rapid Fire.”

The Winton Woods High School (Cincinnati, Ohio) standout has been putting on a display this season, something she credits to her father—which brings up a cool tidbit about Chance, as Randy explains: “… her father Carlton Gray is her head coach alongside Chance’s sister Amber who is one of the assistants. Carlton is also a former NFL defensive back and coaches the football team won a state championship this past year.”
