The Ravens turn up for matchups against the Bengals after going all-black in 2023; Baltimore is taking things up a notch.

The Ravens announced they would wear their new Purple Rising helmets Thursday night, November 7, when they host the Cincinnati Bengals.

“The reaction to our ‘Purple Rising’ helmet launch from both players and fans was extremely positive,” Ravens Senior Vice President of Marketing Brad Downs stated. “We can’t wait to debut it in front of a national audience and huge Baltimore crowd this November.”

The first-ever alternate helmet features a metallic purple rising painted shell with gold talon lines, a gold face mask, and the front-facing Ravens logo, best known for the red eyes that adorn the player entrance tunnel at M&T Bank Stadium.

Purple Rising is just the third helmet version the Ravens have worn since the franchise’s inception in 1996.

The Ravens’ all-time record against the Cowboys is 5-1, and the teams last met in the 2020 season.

Ravens rookie DB Beau Brade switches jersey number

Baltimore Ravens rookie defensive back Beau Brade is switching uniform numbers ahead of the season opener vs. the Kansas City Chiefs

Beau Brade got from the muscle, going from a local undrafted free agent product to the Ravens’ 53-man roster and a potential role on a championship-caliber defense.

Brade can fill the alley on run plays or rush the quarterback as a Blitzer, and as the rookie prepares for a trip to Kansas City to face the reigning Super Bowl champion Chiefs, he’s switching jersey numbers.

Damarion Williams was waived, and after re-signing to the practice squad, Brade will move from No. 6 to No. 24.

Brade had an outstanding preseason, leading the Ravens in tackles with 19 total.Β  The former Maryland Terrapins safety is also a homegrown story. He grew up in Clarksville, MD, and attended River Hill High School.
