Poll: Who will lead the Browns in rushing yards this season?

Will someone other than Chubb lead Cleveland in rushing yards?

It is unclear when the Cleveland Browns will get Nick Chubb on the field in 2024 after he suffered a gruesome injury against the Steelers last year. This is the second time Chubb has torn that knee, and a timeline for his return hasn’t been given yet.

Even if Chubb starts early in the season, the Browns will likely limit his touches early to let him ease his way back into things and keep him healthy for the playoff push. So there could be a different leading rusher than Chubb this year, and it will likely be last year’s leading rusher, Jerome Ford.

Ford had a solid season last year with 813 rushing yards, averaging four yards per carry. On the other hand, Nyheim Hines and power back D’Onta Foreman, who will compete for carries even when Chubb returns, are the other talented players added.

I believe it will be a running back by committee, and in turn, it’s hard to predict who will lead the team in rushing this year. If I had to choose, I think it would be Jerome Ford again, but Nick Chubb would give him a run for his money late in the season.

Poll: How many games will the Cleveland Browns win in 2024

Can Cleveland make the playoffs in back to back seasons?

This upcoming season has to be one of the most anticipated in the Cleveland Browns’ history, at least since their return in 1999. Things are changing in Cleveland, as the team showed its commitment to the current direction by signing head coach Kevin Stefanski and general manager Andrew Berry to long-term extensions.

Berry and the rest of the front office have put together one of the best rosters in the NFL without many weaknesses. Of course, as always, much of this year’s success will depend on Deshaun Watson elevating his game and returning to Pro Bowl form.

However, the team won despite some horrific quarterback play at times in 2023, although it wasn’t enough in the playoffs. The team is set to have a chance to make the playoffs for the third time in five years, something the Browns haven’t done since the 1980s.

I am cautiously optimistic that Watson will play better in 2024 after he showed signs of returning to form last year. I predict the team will win 12 games and the division crown. How many games do you think they will win?

Poll: Which Browns player will be second on the team in sacks in 2024

Will Za’Darius Smith be number two again in 2024?

The 2023 Cleveland Browns pass rush was a formidable force under Jim Schwartz, led by Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett. Then the team added even more talented pass rushers, signing veteran defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson and drafting the hyper-athletic Michael Hall Jr. out of Ohio State.

Za’Darius Smith had a great first season with the Browns, even though his sack numbers weren’t as impressive as his tape. Ultimately, he was second on the team in sacks last year, though Alex Wright and Ogbo Okoronkwo were right on his heels.

Okoronkwo has already made a bold prediction: He is shooting for double-digit sacks in 2024, something he could realistically do if he stays healthy. Could the rookie Hall make a run at second on the team in sacks? He will be a rotational pass rusher at first, but with all the talent around him, Hall has a real chance to make an impact and rack up the sacks.

So, if you had to make a prediction today, who do you think will be second on the team in sacks in 2024?

Poll: How many yards will Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson throw for in 2024?

Will Watson be the teams first 4,000 yard passer since Brian Sipe?

With OTAs and mandatory minicamp over, the Browns are officially on summer vacation until they report for training camp on July 22nd and 23rd. Quarterback Deshaun Watson has looked good in limited action since having shoulder surgery on his throwing arm in November.

The injury Watson suffered is very uncommon in football; it’s mostly seen in baseball players, so his timetable before the summer was hard to determine. Andrew Berry earlier this week said that he is ahead of schedule, and Watson later posted some clips of him training at UCLA. It looks like he is good to go for camp.

The Cleveland Browns have not had a 4,000-yard passer since Brian Sipe did in during the 1980 season. The last time Watson played a full season, he threw for 4,823 yards, which would set a franchise record in Cleveland. He seems healthy, he has all the weapons, and I truly believe he will break Sipe’s record.

But as always, we would love to hear from you all. How many yards will he throw for in 2024?

Poll: Can the Browns win a Super Bowl with Stefanski and Berry?

Will this group lead the team to the promise land?

This past week was a big one for the Cleveland Browns, as they extended head coach Kevin Stefanski and general manager Andrew Berry. Since the team returned in 1999, there hasn’t been a regime deserving of extensions until this group came to town in 2020.

With the amount of adversity this regime has had over the four seasons it is rather remarkable the success they have been able to have. Pair that with most of the time they have gotten below-average quarterback play, and it just shows how good this coach and general manager combo actually is.

But now that they have established themselves as a good regular-season team, they have to take the next step and have more success in the playoffs. A 1-2 playoff record isn’t terrible but they have to get deeper in the playoffs this year to continue the journey to a Super Bowl.

So, do you believe that the Cleveland Browns will one day win a Super Bowl with Kevin Stefanski and Andrew Berry?

Poll: How do you grade the Browns’ selection of Myles Harden?

How do you grade the Harden pick?

The annual tradition of general manager Andrew Berry taking a defensive back continued in the seventh round when the Cleveland Browns drafted South Dakota cornerback Myles Harden in the 2024 NFL draft.

After the pick, Berry noted during his media availability that they believe Harden’s skill set works best as a nickel corner in the slot.

Harden is well experienced, starting 28 games in college, and has good size and strength. He is an aggressive player who loves to play physically and excels in run support. Harden moves well laterally and has the experience of playing both inside and outside if need be.

The Browns under Berry have had a knack for finding talent at the position, so if they’re confident in the selection, then I am, too. In the end, it’s a seventh-round pick, though, so there isn’t much risk. This pick gets a C grade from me.

How do you grade the selection of Myles Harden from South Dakota?

Poll: How do you grade the Browns’ pick of Jowon Briggs?

Do you agree with this pick?

The 2024 NFL draft wrapped up for the Cleveland Browns with their second selection of the seventh round, Jowon Briggs from Cincinnati. It was the second time Cleveland drafted a defensive tackle in this class after taking Ohio State’s Michael Hall Jr. in the second round.

But Briggs is a different type of defensive tackle as a bigger-bodied player known for shutting down the middle in the running game. Briggs does a great job absorbing blocking and churning the line, but his impact as a pass rusher is minimal.

For his size, Briggs has good lateral quickness and can chase down ball carriers. He does many of the same things Siaki Ika does, so I’m not entirely sure why he was picked unless Ika is on his way out. Either way, this is added competition to one of the deepest parts of this roster.

How do you grade the selection of Jowon Briggs from Cincinnati?

Poll: What grade do you give the Browns for pick of Nathaniel Watson in 2024 NFL draft?

What grade does the linebacker pick get from you?

Fans finally got one of their draft wishes: The Cleveland Browns and Andrew Berry selected Mississippi State linebacker Nathaniel Watson with the sixth pick, adding a linebacker. This pick intrigues me because the interesting player Watson is who, as an off-ball linebacker, had 10 sacks in 2023.

Watson is likely to replace Sione Takitaki as the strong-side linebacker and has the skill set to be a great special teamer. He was a productive player in college, though he is limited as an athlete overall. Watson has great size and length, and his explosiveness off the snap, specifically as a blitzer, is impressive.

Cleveland needed help as a linebacker and someone who could take some special teams snaps. Watson is a solid pick late in the draft. Anyone who has the skillset to add more pass rush as a bonus is good in my book and the pick earns a B from me.

How do you grade the pick of Nathaniel Watson in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL draft?

Poll: How do you grade the Browns selection of Jamari Thrash?

What do you grade the Thrash pick?

The Cleveland Browns have added a skill position player in the fifth round using pick No. 156 on Louisville wide receiver Jamari Thrash. The pick makes sense with Thrash’s ability to play inside and outside at the position, giving the Browns alignment flexibility.

Thrash is a sudden athlete with great explosiveness off the line of scrimmage and excellent long speed to go with it. He is an elite separator who tracks the ball in the air well and can hit a home run in a deep ball situation. Thrash is a quality player who suffered a wrist injury that limited him in the last month of the 2023 season.

Thrash has a good football IQ and knows how to attack defenses, especially against zone coverage. He plays pretty well against man coverage as well. For me, it’s a solid C+, maybe a B- selection for the Browns; how do you grade the pick?

Poll: How does the Browns pick of Zak Zinter grade for you?

What grade do you give the Zinter pick?

The Browns return to adding to the trenches just on the other side of the ball with their third-round pick. With the 85th overall pick in the 2024 draft, they added Michigan offensive guard Zak Zinter, who suffered a season-ending injury against Ohio State.

Zinter is an average athlete, but he is a mauler on the interior and gets to learn from two of the better guards in the NFL as a rookie. He has some of the best hands in the class for interior linemen and plays with great leverage, especially in the run game. Zinter is the Browns type of guard with great play strength to move people around in the run game to create rushing lanes.

He may have limited upside because of a lack of elite athleticism, but he’s a high football IQ player with a ton of experience. Over his three-year career with the Wolverines, he allowed just 27 pressures and three sacks in the Big Ten.

The pick of Zak Zinter is a solid move, and I give it a B. What grade do you give the pick?
