Notre Dame doesn’t move up as much with the experts as it does with the AP.
While Notre Dame is now No. 5 in the AP Top 25 poll after beating Army 49-14 at Yankee Stadium on Saturday, neither [autotag]Danny Kanell[/autotag] or [autotag]Joel Klatt[/autotag] were willing to rank the Fighting Irish that high.
Kanell has them at No. 7 in his top 12 and Klatt at No. 6 in his top 10.
Klatt’s top 10 are: Oregon, Ohio State, Texas, Penn State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Miami (Fl), Indiana, and SMU with “almost” nods going to Boise State, Clemson and Tulane.

Georgia, Tennessee, Miami (Florida), SMU and Indiana round out the top 10.
That latter half of the top 10 is where a lot of movement occurred. Tennessee and Miami (Fl) gained three spots and SMU picked up four. Indiana slid five spots to number 10 after being blown out by Ohio State.
Other big movers included Clemson, up five spots, and Alabama, which slid six spots to No. 13 after being outclassed by Oklahoma.
Arizona State jumped seven spots to No. 14 after upsetting BYU, and Ole Miss slid six to No. 15 after being upset by Florida.
BYU and Texas A&M dropped five spots after losses, and Iowa State is up five spots after beating Utah.
Colorado dropped seven places to N. 23 after falling to Kansas and Army, Notre Dame’s opponent Saturday night, fell seven spots to 25th.

While this was a top-25 matchup, Notre Dame football dominated Army from the start, cruising to an easy 49-14 victory in Yankee Stadium.
The win improves the Irish’s record to 10-1, as they’ve won their last 9-games. The Black Knights 13-game winning streak came to an abrupt end, as they took their first loss of the 2024 season.
Notre Dame scored a touchdown on its first drive of the game, and took off from there. A blocked punt led to another first quarter touchdown, then Navy answered with a score of its own to put the score at 14-7 early in the second quarter.
The Irish would add two more touchdowns before the half ended, taking a commanding 28-7 lead into the break. Another two scores gave Notre Dame a 42-7 cushion which they’d coast to the final outcome. The Irish have yet to take a loss in a Shamrock Series game.
Running back Jeremiyah Love was the star for the Irish, while only rushing 7 times, he accounted for 130 yards and two touchdowns. He added a catch for another score, an impressive day from the sophomore.
Notre Dame travels to USC next weekend to conclude its regular season portion of the 2024 schedule.

No. 6 Notre Dame is thrashing No. 18 Army at Yankee Stadium tonight.
That hasn’t stopped the Fighting Irish from scoring — Aneyas Williams took the ball 58 yards to the house on the first play after Army turned it over on downs.
That gave the Irish a 49-7 lead with 10:40 to go in the game.
It’s the 100th anniversary of the “Four Horsemen” game, so perhaps it’s fitting that the Irish backfield has done a lot of damage against Army in the Bronx.

Jadarian Price is on the board for the second time.
Notre Dame running back [autotag]Jeremiyah Love[/autotag] has some competition from his backfield mate [autotag]Jadarian Price[/autotag]. While Love has three touchdowns for the No. Fighting Irish against the No. 18 Army Black Knights, Price has two.
His second was a 10-yard run that appeared to be stuffed initially before Price worked his way loose and bounced it outside. The score finished off an 8-play, 57-yard drive that took 3:33 off the clock and ended with 45 seconds remaining in the third quarter.
Backup quarterback [autotag]Steve Angeli[/autotag] helmed the drive with starter [autotag]Riley Leonard[/autotag] resting since the game is well in hand for the Irish.

A fumble before halftime sums up Army’s night against Notre Dame so far.
After No. 6 Notre Dame punched the ball into the end zone late in the first half against No. 18 Army, courtesy of running back [autotag]Jadarian Price[/autotag], the Black Knights did have a chance to mount a scoring drive before halftime.
The Fighting Irish prevented that from happening, however, when cornerback [autotag]Leonard Moore[/autotag] forced Army quarterback [autotag]Bryson Daily[/autotag] to fumble. Notre Dame linebacker [autotag]Jack Kiser[/autotag] recovered.
The Irish failed to capitalize, however, when kicker [autotag]Mitch Jeter[/autotag] pushed a 48-yard field-goal attempt wide right. Jeter has been dealing with a groin injury.
Jadarian Price finally punches it in against a stout Army goal-line defense.
This time, it’s [autotag]Jadarian Price’s[/autotag] turn.
No. 6 Notre Dame turned to Price to get the ball into the end zone on third-and-goal against the No. 18 Army Black Knights. This after the first two attempts at the end zone were stuffed — and Army had already had a goal-line stand against the Fighting Irish earlier in the game.
Price’s run ended an 8-play, 50-yard drive that took 2:14 off the clock. Price scored with 26 seconds remaining in the half.

Notre Dame running back [autotag]Jeremiyah Love[/autotag] has his second touchdown of the night against No. 18 Army at Yankee Stadium.
Unlike his first score of the evening, which was a receiving touchdown, Love’s second was a rushing touchdown for the No. 6 Fighting Irish. Meaning his streak of games with a rushing touchdown has extended to 11.
This one was a 14-yard scamper that ended a 3-play, 41-yard drive that took 1:23 off the clock. Love found the end zone with 4:35 remaining in the first half, shortly after Notre Dame forced Army to go three-and-out.
That series followed an Irish failure to punch it in on fourth-and-goal.
Love also had runs of 21- and 6-yards on the drive.
Wayne Bullock was the last Notre Dame player to achieve this feat, doing it in 1973-1974.

Notre Dame running back [autotag]Jeremiyah Love[/autotag] leaped his way into the end zone for the No. 6 Fighting Irish against the No. 18 Army Black Knights. Love caught a swing pass from quarterback [autotag]Riley Leonard[/autotag] for a 6-yard touchdown reception.
That ended a 3-play, 7-yard scoring drive that was set up when the Irish blocked an Army punt.
Unfortunately, it’s scored as a receiving touchdown, so the score does not extend Love’s streak of consecutive games with a rushing touchdown to 11.
